I'm all for smaller computers but isn't this just taking it a little bit too far? Seriousely who wouldn't rather have it be a centimeter thicker and have optical drives?

for sure...on the other hand, people say they can use usb drives to upload what it needs to be burn on a desktop pc or other thicker notebook..

I am still waiting for the revolutionary part with this laptop. It seems to me they are taking a laptop, stripping away a whole lot of stuff, and making it thinner.

Look at the new MacBook!! Now with less options!

I like the concept, but it doesn't stirke me as something worthy of such hype.

but if there's no Ethernet I'm going to be pissed off

been holding back on getting a macbook pro because of this.

And for people who don't understand the value in this type of notebook or complain that it's stripping features away have no understanding of the marketshare this targets.
Business travellers with little to no space to spare.

As though you couldn't squeeze the fatass macbook that most people have into a bag but you cold squeeze this new one. :p

Sorry, I'm just not buying it. Both literally and figuratively. If it turns out like this I'll be glad I got my macbook when I did.

why do people want a sub notebook?
size

to reduce the size there are some mechanical components you just cannot keep in the unit itself so cd drives have to go.

as for the super beast powerful god-like cpu, video card etc type of machine that just defeats the point, from a space management stand point and for battery life.

sub notebooks don't cater to gamers, or the people with hardcore hardware needs.
