Wow I seriously just watched this last night. I thought it was amazing. I love Danny Boyle's films. I loved the concept in Sunshine
During the shield repair sequence, I turned to my roommate and said this would be so much better on the big screen. It's unfortunate that Sunshine was in and out of the theaters so fast. I really wanted to see it.
The deleted scenes even give you a little more insight to the crew and it answers some questions that my roommate and I had.
That scene but just seeing it SO large and in a dark theater really draws you in. You feel extremely isolated and like you are there.

It's not been released. Last I heard people were still speculating on a release date but nothing has been set in stone.
