Yea I've heard some interesting stories :stongue:
The 100% human interaction element is really what makes the game. |

Alrite so i was debating with myself which free trail should i play; WOW OR EVE.
I wanted something good since ill probably be paying money later. I have no previous MMO experince other than playing Runescape/FFX11- 360 beta. lol.
So i choose to go with Eve; im not sure what i might be getting myself into; i dont want to be that n00b that gets jiffe'd by other players. So im asking is there something i need to know before i envark on this journey. :conf: |

Eve is like wine. It gets better with age. I've been playing this game for almost three years now. The first few weeks will be slower than most MMOs. The learning curve is steep because there is tons of information to absorb. You will find there is an order to things after a while. There are many helpful threads in the Eve-O forums. I suggest doing some homework on these forums, particularly the Skills section.
Character Creation:
What you pick as a race is not as important as in other games because you're free to learn all skills. You will find the more serious players will have multiple accounts and specialize their characters for a specific intent. It is common to have a pure PVP character and an alternate character (alt) for support skills and money-making. Obviously when you are starting to get a feel for the game, it's compelling to be a generalist. For me, Eve is about PVP. Highest death penalty of any MMO. So I pick my characters attributes accordingly. Highest perception, second highest willpower. If you're unsure what you'll be doing in Eve, pick a race that has even attributes, except charisma. Charisma is the least used attribute so it's not worth it to get a character with high charisma. Most older players end up playing all the features of Eve through multiple characters on multiple accounts.
* This may seem dumb but pick a name that's in the middle of the alphabet. You will understand once you get older and wiser. ;)
* Pick a character name different than your account name.
After Creation Tips:
- Learn your learning skills at quickly as possible. They will pay off as you continue to play. And if you decide Eve sucks, then it's really no loss you only trained learning skills. The leveling system is one of my main attractions to Eve. I can not play the game for weeks and my character will still be training.
- After your character completed a level of training, you must manually set a new skill to be trained.
- Don't worry so much about trying to get the biggest ship you can. Fly around in frigates and learn the game before flying expensive things. In Eve, you're bound to get killed.
- Find a corp as soon as possible. Eve is boring when playing alone. Try and find an active corp that's willing to teach. Eve University is a corp that is made for new pilots. I recommend them for the beginning.
I'm rambling so I'll stop. Feel free to ask questions. |

| The best part of EVE is your skills keep training when you aren't in game. The worst part is it is kind of slow in the beginning while you're learning everything and getting settled it. It has a high learning curve. You won't get ganked as a noob as long as you stay in secure space. |

Buzzkilll; so after speading 2 to 3 additional hours just trying to set foot in the game with out luck. Trust me i looked around and checked things - drivers, patches, forums, uninstall/reinstall etc. Same problem: no luck - wTF. I had patience and lost it. /puts head down. lol
So ive decided the next best thing; put EVE down for moment. And Try playing WoW. :p
Yeah i know tell me about, hahhaa. You know i really wanted to give EVE a go. So ive registered my WoW account and within 20 minutes; i was creating a character and pwnting - rabbits and wolves online. Noooo . :tongue2
Imma take it from here. :o

Weird :sadgreen: Are you downloading the premium graphic package without a nice video card? What system are you running? |

i thought i about that, im certain i went with the classic graphics package; i know for a fact im not running on no high end computer but does meet minimum and preferred system requirements to play the game.
Im running on Vista with a Nvidia Geforce 6150 card. Ive looked on the EVE forums and noticed a few other people having the same problem. From what i noticed i think its a VISTA problem. I wont ompletly uninstall this game down, my computer knowledge is very limited so perhaps if one of my friends gets a chance; i will have them take a look at it. ;) |

| Eve is a poor game. I used to play it years ago and was a pirate but it has got awful now with all the kids starting playing. |

After you've wet your feet with WoW, graduate to the next level with Eve Online. The best part? I can have three accounts and not spend any real money. |
don't listen to this noob... :D
WoW is both noob-friendly and also hardcore-friendly (endgame raiding)
there is a reason why WoW has almost 10million paid subscribers. not sure if eveOnline has even taht many FREE users?
