Does Armin Van Buuren play trance?

| I'm just curious, because when I'm listening to his radio show, I have the feeling that I'm on rock concert. What happened to this guy? Where's the old Armin, who was playing trance? (2000-2004).. |

| He used to play a bit of trance mixed with some prog, some rock remixes and a load of pop-trance, but very surprisingly the last asot was pretty trance-y. I don't mind him playing whatever he likes, but what gets me is that people associate trance with whatever he plays. Man that annoys me |

I think hes added a lot of techy tracks and a hell of a lot of cheesy ones (The Anthem and that god awful Champaigne Supernova bootleg) to basically improve his popularity and he has succeeded. But hes nothing now to the stuf he was playing say at Global in 2004. That for me was the last truely great set hes played. Folk who wernt even into trance raved about him that day.
Hes basically went with what is popular not what his older fans would like to see him play again.
I think hes still always worth going to see. But his tracklists rarely excite me much until he gets the classics on the go. |

That was one great set i still listen to the 45 mins the Galaxy.fm played over and over again. His sets certainly havn't been the same since, as his popularity grew he has felt the need to play these awful 'sing along' tracks like the anthem, the bootleg mix of U2 and Champaigne Supernova..... |
