Well over $4000, probably more along the lines of 5000 with tax.
You don't need club-standard gear at your house if you're just starting out, pick up some CDJ 200s or 800s and a good mixer, IE: Xone: 32/62/42 or any Ecler mixer, or a good Vestax.
Don't forget you'll also need a decent pair of headphones, an amp, speakers, and a -load of CDs and a CD case. The expenses add up for a starter set-up. |

DJM is around 1800 (not includ tax)
two NEW cdjs are 1600 (includ tax)
then you need cdjs which disappear fast
a wallet to hold them
continuously buying music on BP
headphones (minimum 200 for a good pair) (not including tax)
so as u can see it adds up |

Nah,
The Sony head-cans that Greg has are under $200 and are great! Comfort and sound wise.
And as far as getting music goes, ya...
Costly costly! Unless you steal it all, in which case you're dumbass and I hope you get fined.
I buy hundreds of dollars worth of tunes every month and I wouldn't say I buy THAT much. Then again, I buy WAVs since I like to edit my tunes and I buy vinyls still (only like 2-3 per month) but I suppose it all adds up regardless.
But back to what you'll NEED to start DJing in your house/apartment:
1x Mixer ----> I reccomend: Xone:32, Xone:62, Xone:42 or an Ecler Nuo 2
2x CDJs ----> I reccomend Pioneer CDJ 200s or 800s MK2
1x Pair of Headphones ----> I reccomend: Pioneer HDJ-100s, AKGs or Sony's
1x CD Case ----> It's a CD case, who gives a .
50 trillion x CDs ----> Try to make sure they are of a decent brand and that there's a good amount of space to write out track names on them
1x Amp ----> Your choice, make sure it has what you need.
2x Speakers/Monitors ----> Again your choice, depending on how loud you wanna blast that ! |
