53 CD-R's later.....

i got all my trance singles/livesets/videos backed up! finally i dont have to worry about losing the 30+ GIGs of trance that was sitting on my HDD. i did lose a GIG of trance last week, and that prompted me to BACK EVERYTHING UP NOW!!!
burned them all on 700MB TDK CD-R's;) with an 8x burner:whip:
damm that was slow burning
anybody else backed up huge amounts of files at once? and with what cd burner speed?
anyways...just thought i'd share...i'm finally done.

I have 40 gigs of music/vids/apps to back up...:whip:
I've been worried for over 4 months on how i'm gonna back these up..
but now that i have 1 more week of school/exams left,
i'll be able to organize them and back them up...
I have no space at all on my HDs ....:p
I'm gonna have to use my 4x cd burner...:mad:
soo, it should take a week or soo to cover it all,
AND..i need to find space to store all these cds....
then after that, i have to record all my mp3's as music cds and then my vids into VCDs ....
i have alot work ahead of me... |

8x slow burning?
arg try backing up on a 4x burner that will only burn safely at 2x. thats harsh.however gotta save those files... must buy dvd writer.. mmm 4.7 gigs.. |

| i have at least 200 tdk 80 cdr backup all my mp3s/videos/live sets/appz/movies/tv shows/ and stuff. i started at 4x but now i am at 40X, major difference. |

| Why don't you guys pick up an external hard drive or something. You can get big ones (20-40 gigs) pretty cheap these days. Just make sure it's Firewire, otherwise you'll be waiting awhile to transfer 40 gig over USB :D |

i used one of my spindle trays and fit all 53 into a 50cdr spindle:D
i dont see anything wrong with that;)....i'll get me a HUGE hdd soon, so i'll throw these back onto the hdd, and have them backed up....
well happy burning with the 4x burner. with 8x, it took me 10 minutes to actually burn each 700 mb CD.

152 divx burned-->dl'd and burned in 1.5 months this year
55 mp3 cd's/1 dedicated to trance video's
about 20 actual trance audio cdz
my 10 ITWT cd collection from 00-01 if you remember my alias as TECHNONY on napster.
Since day one of my comp last year. Its been through 2 major viruses
2 major worms-4 reformats partly due to norton that sucks.
I once had my 30 gb's down to 800 mbs I had so many movies and mp3s on it. This all since sept 2000.
I will have to deal with this years backup next thursday after my last final is over! |

| Remember - Don't keep the backups in direct sunlight or you won't have anything on the CD's after 6 months.... |

| I got 80 MP3 CDs, burnt with 8x, and I still have about 10 gigs on the HDD, that I should burn, but I'm too lazy to do it.. ffs.. |
