| Earthbound for SNES, one of my favorite games of all time. But not sure if its one of those hidden gems, I didnt know alot of people who ever played it, but between RPG and Gaming enthusiast, alot of them played it. |

Hmmm...I very much know of Shining Force 1 + 2, the second was one of the few games I had for the Genesis back when in the grade school days, so I'm pretty sure that's not what I'm thinking of, I always thought they made a Shining in the Darkness 2 or something of that sort, maybe it only came out in Japan or maybe I dont even know what I'm talking about.
But it IS very easy to confuse the two, how many games have Shining as a predominant word in the title...
I also want to say that Shining Force 3 for Saturn is one of the hardest games to find. And when you find it, you are likely paying very high triple-digit dollars. |
Dayem... if there is a Shining in the Darkness 2, that might be reason to dig out the 'ol genesis and start hittin ebay! (or maybe check the emu sites  ) I'll have to look in to that.
(as it is, this thread is already making me want to dig out some old gems) |

In 3rd grade when my family got me an IBM XT I played the hell out of JumpMan.

Anyone remember Syndicate?
|
hehe, hardly an "unknown" game though ;)
who bought (was it bullfrog?) i think maybe sierra did. anywayz, would be awesome to see a sequel. first game i ever encountered where you could flame-throw innocent civilians! :D |

Bullfrog was bought by Sierra yea. Man Bullfrog was sick, Theme Hospital ftw! I think they had Dungeon Keeper too.
Syndicate was great man and definitely not unknown. What about Syndicate Wars, wasn't that the sequel? |

i remember having this dicussion before, and i cant remember. i thought it was more of an expansion, but i could be wrong like i was last time? either way, i never played anything that looked like a sequel (ie improved graphics, interface, new units weapons etc) |

I played the demo of the PC version of this years ago. I thought it was a good time. I think the reviews were horrible, but what the hell do they know. |

Syndicate was the first game, Syndicate: American Revolt was the expansion for the game, and Syndicate Wars was the sequel. Nothing better than blowing up a building ful of innocent civilians :p |
