Biggest Atrocities in Gaming History

....so who got suckered into any of these gaming mishaps that would have been better off never happening?

Sega CD - Sega's attempt at competing and staying up to day with the SNES. Instead of releasing a whole new console, they release an ugly add-on. FMV games galore.

Sega 32X - Almost pointless, yet ANOTHER add-on for the Genesis that you inserted into the Genesis slot. Nobody could really be sure if games actually looked better or not.

Virtual Boy - Caused headaches and stomach problems, this gaming platform wasnt even true virtual reality. Mario Tennis was the closest it got.

3DO - Not necessarily a bad system, but its price killed it before it even launched....$700 The first Need for Speed game ever made made its debut here before being ported to the PSone and Saturn.

Atari Jaguar - Its 64-bit!!! No its not, but thats what Atari was trying to claim back in the day when the bit number decided if the console was worthy or not. The controller looked like a TI-83 calculator, and all the good games were ports.

Ill add more later. Any of you TA's got suckered into these? Or know anyone who did?

I've tried the virtual boy. It's the only system to give me a bad headache within minutes of playing Tennis on it.

Phillips CD-i should be on that list (Hotel Mario and the Zelda games)

I lol because I actually know someone who bought a Sega CD, and he had this game! I played it years ago, hardly remember it, but it wasnt ANY fun and was pure in terms of quality.

How the hell could I forget that? How could Nintendo allow two of their most valuable properties be succumbed to such an awful piece of hardware that did jack in terms of benefits to the gaming industry?

I know literally no one who has even PLAYED the damn thing, I'd love to hear from someone who actually has experienced the CD-i.

I played the cd-i in the local library back in the day. It sucked ass, but it did have a program with which you could morph famous people's faces, which was kind of fun.

And I owned the sega 32x :D I absolutely loved playing Doom on it.

From a financial perspective, maybe. And that was more so because Sega spent too much money on the Saturn/32X/Sega CD, none of which churned a real profit. The PS2 was just too powerful of a force for the DC to handle.

From a gaming perspective, the Dreamcast is among the greatest consoles if you ask me. First console to feature what I would call "realistic" graphics (the jump from PSone to Dreamcast was waaaay bigger than the jump from, say, PS2 to X360) and the first console to feature a fully-utilized online multiplayer network (for a console that is, laid the ground for Xbox Live, PSN, and WiiConnect), not the mention the ridiculously awesome library of games.

This thread is more about systems, add ons and games that just plain sucked when you used it, not systems, add ons and games that were commercial failures despite how good the gaming experience was on it.
