Cancer is not an entirely natural way to die.

i disagree. its probably the most prevalent natural means. really, excluding murder or suicide or accident, they're all "natural".

cancer is an entirely natural way to die. albeit it can be influenced by less natural forces, it is still a natural way to die.

I know, but in today's society it is more often than not caused and abetted un-naturally. Cigarettes, benzoates, radioactivity etc...

It doesn't matter how you die, fact is anyone who is born into this physical world will eventually leave it.

That is what I refer to by 'natural'.

Birth and death are two sides of the same coin.

chin up dude. There's many stages of dealing with something like this and things will seem rough for a while, but you know she wouldn't have wished for you to feel the way you do, so live your productive life and know she's looking down on you. Death is hard to deal with, and I particularly struggle to fathom it myself.

I've read this thread a few times now trying to think of what I could add, reading about your experience is pretty surreal, and I can't imagine having been through that.

My condolences, Marcus - and thank you for sharing your experience and thoughts in such a personal situation. It's rare to see someone articulate such an experience so eloquently.

:)

Sorry for you Marcus. :(

I know it is a difficult time, but you should take some solace in knowing that you had the chance to tell her how you much you cared for her, and that you were able to bring her some comfort in her final hours.
