Rob sorry I have been so slow on this. After a two week binge in Ableton I have been slow to listen to anything EDM related which is a rare event for me. I listened to it last weekend on the way back to Michigan but need another listen to post up a review.

No rush man - I'm not one of these kids who feels compelled to push his friends into listening and reviewing his .

:)

Whenever you get a chance, I'll definitely love to hear what you think.

Hey buddy, I think some of these guys have been a little tough on you.

I very much enjoyed it, and it has earned a coveted spot in my car's 6-disc changer. Discs don't get swapped out of there all that much, so congratulations, i guess... LOL

Good choice on ending with the downtempo. Great track -

:)

So here we go. Overall I honestly really enjoyed the mix. I will be the first person to say I am really not to keen for vocal tracks but for the most part I thought the ones included were pretty solid.

One of the reasons why I enjoyed the mix was obviously it had a sort of Balance 05 feel to it a bit. Not a lot but it did have a little of that flavor.

The opening track was really solid and the mix from the first to second track was honestly ing choice. When we were listening to it on the way home from Wax that night I was like holy . It takes a bit for me to feel like that and you got me. Flow into the third track was solid as well. The forth track however is probably one of the worst tracks I have ever heard and really tainted the mix for me. Helen Cornell honestly should be taken out of every DJ’s bag and burned. When Chels and I were listening to it we were just waiting for it to end and it never did.

Fizzman is a great track and almost redeems the Helen track but not quite. The mix into it was nice also.

One of the only hitches mixing personally was from the Ada track into A5B. The tracks didn’t seem to fit together as good you probably thought. I really liked how you mixed right out it with the Day track. They really worked well together. Also that Lewie Day track was hands down my favorite track of the set. I am sure a lot of people got bored in that section but I thought it was fantastic. The mix in and out of it set the tone for the rest of the set.

Everything else from there on out was solid, great to here the Kage track. If you come to DEMF I will have to introduce you to him. He’s a great guy for sure. The FC track was great to hear, way to dig deep. Overall nice work boss. It was definitely something a bit different from you and I did enjoy it. I think I might have liked your last one a bit better but not by much. I would give it a solid 7.7/10. It would have been nice to see some edit and such on the track list since some tracks seemed to carry on a bit too long. That and the 4th track are my only complaints.

~ I mean really … burn that track .. lol

Awesome mix, RJT! Very very impressed. The tracks flowed together well and choosing Hayling was a perfect way to end the set. Great job, man.

On another note, I don't know if I'm being picky but I could definitely tell some tracks were being done in Ableton because of the warping sound during breakdowns.

Hmm I'm gonna have to follow the tracklisting closer. There's one song in the middle that I must know what it is!

I'd bet dollars to donuts that it's Lewie Day - The Blistering Barnacle. ;)

And out of curiosity - where did you hear the warping sound during breakdowns? I only used Ableton for the first and last transition, you shouldn't really notice it anywhere else...

Sorry, I did just mean the ending for the most part. You could hear it in the strings, keys, and synths. Must be because you were warping by Beats mode versus Texture or Complex mode. That's the tradeoff for mixing a downtempo track that's not supposed to be in a house set :D

Very solid mix through & through, but honestly it's still like -30 degrees w/ wind chill out there & your gonna tell me the UWM Balder Remix isn't gonna make it on a new promo for Spring? :nervous:

It's coming soon on Bobby and my tag-team hard-dance and tech trance compilation coming out in March.

Going to be 5 discs of 150+BPM insanity.

Really digging tracks 3 and 5, the Citizen Kain and Ada tracks.
