hey guys
ive just bought set of cdjs and a mixer and have been playing a little bit but ive found that the table that they are on is too low. after a few mixes my back starts to hurt from constantly bending over.
i was wondering what is generally considered the optimum height to have your setup in proporsion to your body?? or if it is up to personal preference, what height do you guys prefer?
any replies are appreciated :) |

IMO the table should be at about elbow height. i think mine is 97 cm high (or something like that).
it's the perfect height for me, but the table isn't wide enough for all my gear i've gotten thru the years and finding a new table that is high and wide enough is proving to be quite difficult. |

| Yep, elbow height would be the way to go. So that when you're mixing the equipment you are uing is slightly above elbow height. I have a standard table and have placed stacks of old carpet tiles underneath each leg to bring it up to my perfect height. |

I replaced the legs of my DJ desk with extensible legs from Ikea, got it up around elbow height now. Much more comfortable to play.
I have my CDJ's at an angle, as well as the mixer. I didn't really want the CDJ's at a 45, but that's the only angle I could get the 1" pipe fittings in. It's ended up working out very well though.
The Trigger finger is now and EFX-1000 :) Trigger finger is off to the side (don't use it much except for occasional traktor control).

38 inches (~96cm) here... 4 standard 8x16" blocks with a halfblock (4x16") on top, 1" thick boards on the top and bottom. Had 5 8x16's (42 inches) but it was a tad high, 4 blocks (34 inches) seemed a bit low.
I agree, 96-98cm seems to be where it's at. |
