Thriller situated in the Victorian age. Probably my favourite type of fiction. 200 pages in, 700 to go. Decent one so far.

Just finished this one:

It's good.

You just don't like it because it alludes to you and your commie neighbours illustrious histories.

edit: Nazi. (I almost didn't say it)

Awesome.

I've been trying to read a lot lately. I don't know why.

I'm trying to keep a rate of 2 books per month... I did it in January and February, but I'm afraid I won't be able to achieve my goal this month :p

Seriously though; I could see why you hate that book.

It's more of an essay on politics than a true story, and doesn't have a real plot as such, though I quite enjoyed it.

Did you read it in English or ze German? Perhaps something was lost in translation?

That's precisely the reason I hate it. Orwell has some interesting things to say about politics and totalitarian regimes, but as a work of literature 1984 just sucks. Reading that was annoying as hell, like he decided to wrap the few interesting parts with layers of .

And worst of all, it brought about one of worlds most stupid TV shows. :whip:

Edit: Read it in German.
