friends and drugs

i feel like i should do something... they seem like they're set on self destruction, but at the same time, i'm not their mum. i doubt i will be friends with them for much longer if it continues. i'm not a goodie twoshoes anti-drug type, but this is going well beyond harmless experimentation - they use the words "self medicating". they go to psychologists for depression, but i suspect this is just a convienient excuse to justify the drug use.

just as some background, we're talking about extracting codeine from tablets, valium, benzos (to the point of not being able to remember 4-8 hours of their lives), acid, mdma caps, GHB, etc. the thing that alarms me the most is that they do most of it non-socially, while they are at home by themselves. probably twice a week on average (once on weekend, once mid week). i'm concerned.

what do you do in these circumstances?

That is actually very common and i dont see the difference from going to the psychiatrist and going to the corner drug dealer.

Anyhow why dont you try calling "intervention" :D

Actually just stop hanging out with them unless you truly appreciate the relationship and dont mind losing it in the interest of saving their lives... (doesnt sound like their life is in danger though)

untill they want by themselves - there is nothing you can do about it.

I have friend who I tried talking to about getting his life straight and getting a job, school and getting somewhere in life and stop going clubbing and getting faced every ing weekend to the point where he cant feel his hands and stuff.....His parents are rich and his the only son and spends his parents money like it grows on trees on his own backyard.

I have stopped going out and partying with him, because im scared he might die someday and I'll be there......:nervous: I tried he wont understand or listen until something really bad happens and teaches him the lesson the hard way.
