In getting back on-topic with the thread, I guess that I'm taking part in lent by proxy, as pointed out in the random talking thread...

I've never really understood the point of this, specially the tradition around here that you can't eat meat during lent on wednesdays (or is it fridays? i forgot the day :haha: ) as it's a sin. Therefore we only eat fish. Wtf?!
Seriously, we're a perfectly normal occidental civilization everyday. Yet there's these little bits of random irrational superstitions. |

it's a catholic thing, and the correct date to not eat meat is on fridays. the whole point of lent is to sacrifice something for 40 days (until easter). |
