Record to PC from DJ Setup

Heyaa everyone!
Well I finally got a setup, not massive but pretty en alright.
2 CDJ-400's and a DJM-400...hehe. Very simple!
Moving along, what are some effective connections from my Setup to PC that I use for recording mixes?
A guy at DJ City in Dandenong explained Plug-N-Play which seemed decent? Any others?

if u just have an onboard soundcard, u will probably have a line in in the form of a small stereo jack input. so:
get rca -> stereo jack cable, plug the rca into your mixers record out or the 2nd master output, the jack into the pc, use audacity to record. done
or get a good sound card, and buy the appropriate cable that the soundcard requires to achieve the same thing.

Do you have a laptop or a desktop?
You can probably get something for around about $100-$200. Its only worth it if your current onboard sound card sounds like crap.
Just dont get the behringer audio interfaces, iv warned people before, they chose to ignore me then later on the come back crying because it sounds like complete ass. |

I use Audacity for the software, its pretty simple (even I can use it with no probs).
As a soundcard I can recommend the Xitel InPort USB. Its a dedicated recording soundcard, its an rca at the mixer end and USB at the computer end, plug in and away you go, comes with about a mile of pretty good quality rca cable too. Easy as, I'm more than happy with sound quality (check out my mix in the DJ promo thread, thats with old-ish needles and a PCV-275 mixer and it still sounds sweet). Costs about 120-150 or so so its pretty affordable too.
Its about the size of a pack of cards too so its easy to carry if you want to take it somewhere else.
By the looks of it it now comes with recording software too as well as being able to use it with other software.

| its not rocket science man, i said the same principles apply. making mixtapes when you were a kid to recording on the comp is a fairly linear process. |

i don't think their similarity required your patronising reply, that's all ;)
and, just for arguments sake, one's digital and the other's analogue... recording a mix tape requires pushing one button, then pushing another: this requires, various pieces of hardware (soundcard, wires etc), and software before ANY buttons are involved... |

I do have a soundcard: Audigy 2 ZS. Would that allow me to record for now?. I see on the back of the soundbox, it has two inputs, for RCA's?. |
