Some of them truly did play the part of 'V'. The truly anonymous ones (just a few handful of people) actually had voice scramblers. |
playing your game then, the church would have to wiretap the world to find these people. so who cares if their voice is scrambled or not. you really think that they are going to have all those people followed and the likes? hell no. too many people and too many resources. |

nono, what he meant was that even if people didn't use voicescramblers or whatever, just the masks, its not like COS is/was going to try and find out who they were/are....i.e. to make them truly not "anonymous".
at least, thats what i thought. |

| I had some friends that wanted to go to the one up here in Hollywood. I was 100% down to go, but I had to be at work that morning. They ended up backing out because one of them didn't want to wear the mask. What a ing twat. |

but no other organization would go to the extent they do unless they have a vested interest. basically no one but the government really. |

anonymous isnt a select group, its you and me.

With that mentality, Scientologists, too, are anonymous.

A voice that echoes the opinion of a crowd is just as anonymous as a scrambled voice, don't you think? |

No no! We're on different wavelengths!
When I originally said "anonymous", I meant the mentality. That's where the 'falso' came in.
Anonymous does not forgive and all that shtick.
The rest of my post was agreeing with you (about people being anonymous). Some took it to the full 100% anonymous state. The others were, like you said, just a bit there. |

Oh, got it. Yeah, I can't say I agree with them, but I can't say I disapprove of their actions either — they're exercising their right to free speech against an organisation that is rather intolerant against different opinions. If you think about it this way, I can't see how one wouldn't feel impelled to condone their attitude. I'm afraid, nevertheless, that they'll become just as intolerant as the ideas they're fighting...

In spite of this dilemma, I find this all really interesting... unlike flash mobs, which are essentially harmless, I think this shows what the internet is really capable of. |
