I do not consider Tiesto's (dj and production style) to be uplifting at all, generally speaking. I'd say Armin's radio show is way more uplifting.

loool you kept me laughing for about 15 minutes, that is so truee for ppl that donīt really know anything about trance or progresssive genre, but anyway mmmm my example of uplifting for trance could be above and beyond radio show, trance around the world, i think is pure uplifting, but as i psychologist student, i could tell you uplifiting music produce a reaction in your mind that makes you feel you are out of your body, it dosent matter wich genre could be even clasical music too... for example bethovenīs songs really gives me an uplifting feeling, same as zocalo by AVB itīs all about the listening of the same vibe or beat over and over....

Sounds like you are talking about the state of trance here... At least to me uplifting means something different. Most "trance" music doesn't have much to do with actually inducing trance.

thats called euphoria.. and the feeling that youre out of your body is just your soul trying to get you to dance, you sofa-trancer!:toothless

There is no secret, there is no such thing as "uplifting"

If you like any type of style and music.. that will be uplifting to you.

A State Of Trance is not by any means uplifting in any other term that YOU like the music being played.

The sound you are asking about is merely a standardized, tried and tested method of making dance music that appeal to the masses of listeners.

Oh but there is (imo). I think uplifting should be considered a sub-genre of trance which is as you described in your last paragraph, pop-trance, more or less.

Copy something 1000 times, and then copy it again!!

palm
the secret is in the filter-envelope and filter-resonance of the main synthlead.

If this was a reference to my post, I wasn't talking about the radio show.
