Newsflash: almost all 14 year olds are insolent heads. It's the age.
I mean , I'd love to hear the insolent disrespectful stream that would come out of jennypie if this cop acted that way with you.
Bottom line: Police serve society. |

You wouldn't, despite what you may think. And no, all 14 year olds aren't insolent heads. Only the ones raised by ing morons. |

| Its not like he told the cop to off..saying "dude" is like second nature to a 14 year old. I guess Id be pissed off too if I was assigned an electric egg to drive around too. |

You're still assuming that just because this kid said "dude" 4 times, he's an insolent head. And yes, most 14 year olds are. I'm sorry, it's true. Thats just about the age when kids realize they can get their way by being heads. I was one, my brother was one, and pretty much every 14 year old I have known has had "insolent head" episodes, with varying degrees of intensity, regardless of parenting and how well they were raised. You can tell this kid doesn't know what is expected of him or what to do. You can tell he's scared. Theres absolutely no reason why an officer of the law should ever act this way with anyone, unless he specifically wants to be disrespected and mistrusted by the people he is supposed to serve. The police have the burden to uphold the moral high ground, to not employ such tactics as "obviously your parents didn't put a foot in your butt enough". Theres nothing to defend here. The cop is completely in the wrong and thats it. |

| The kid was a dick, but so was the cop. The kids reaction, albeit very smartass-like, was nothing threatening, and there was no reason to use such excessive force both verbally and physically. |

I am? Because I never once mentioned his saying "dude". |

I ing can't stand that everyone keeps saying "well the kid was a dick"
Whatever his behavior, you don't teach kids respect by being even more disrespectful in return. You don't tell someone that they need to learn the meaning of respect and then cuss them out and put them in a headlock just for saying "dude". You don't teach people to reopect police by having police officers show absolutely no respect for anyone. It just doesn't ing work that way. |

"dude" is just a common word in teenagers' and many others' vocabulary.
it's not like he was intentionally saying it to piss the cop off, it's just his way of speaking. he was in a high-adrenaline situation, and controlling what words he used wasn't top priority. |

Well then what are you basing it off of? Because according to the video that is the officer's biggest beef. That and the kid starts talking while he's in the middle of screaming.
. I really can't believe that I'm sitting here on TA and youtube arguing about this. Like people don't understand why being a reasonable person, being respectful, goes both ways. In the face of disrespect if you are courteous and restrained, you win. Every time. I have seen some amazing police officers deal with violent, completely disrespectful people with dignity and understanding, and they will always ing come out on top. You can't fight fire with fire, and it applies here as well . |

i don't get how the kid was a dick. MOST 14 year olds don't no better and the cop should not have treated him as if he was a fully grown adult. even then you don't grab someone by the throat and throw em on the ground just for asking the officer why he was taking the measures he was. |
