Yeah, it's common when talking to other 14 year olds, not authority figures or your elders. If I ever called an adult "dude" when I was 14, my dad would have slapped me upside the head.
If it's his way of speaking, then he's a head. I don't buy that excuse for a minute.

Unfortunately exactly what happened on that video happens far more often than it's videotaped. The police in this country have effectively been given license to assault people and no one is ever in a position to do anything about it because it generally amounts to "your word versus a cop's."
I know all too well, and unfortunately watching that video brought back some pretty memories for me. I hope they nail that to the wall - officers of the law should be held to a significantly higher standard of conduct than anyone else. |

I just had an incident where two cops overreacted and wound up roughing me up pretty good and throwing me in a holding cell without mirandizing me. And this was when I was being 100% compliant with every request they made.
It was just kind of a scary experience and completely disillusioned me with regard to law enforcement. |

I witnessed 2 LA County Sherrif break up a house party with a bunch of jackass kids, which gave them the idea that they should in turn act like complete cocks to absolutely everyone, even those complying. They yelled at a 16 year old girl and when she explained her Dad was living in Arizona they said "I bet you had a lot do do with your parents splitting didn't you?"
Absolutely disgusting. |
