| last night was a lto fo fun despite Jody not being able to make it. We were there from open til about 12:15 or so and the party was filling in nicely by the time we left. Mike played a great opening set too. |

Anyone who has been to a Basic NYC or S&B party knows that we're happy to hook anybody up. We tried our best to get Jody here despite everything that happened. We were flexble on Saturday at the door with anybody who was disappointed with the news about Jody not making it. He'll be back for a makeup date in the future. This is the first time in four years of us doing our party we've ever had this happen to one of our guests. And if anyone feels like discussing further they can PM me, or email [email protected], myspace, etc.
I'll get you a drink if you're really miserable about it! :) |

not miserable about it..i just think that a contribution to your parties is TranceAddict and part of your job as main promoter for the party is to try ur best to make sure that the people know the main act will not be there...for example..last year when Armin was scheduled to play at Pacha on March 16th during the snowstorm..Made sent out an e-mail reassuring every1 that Armin was here and going to play..im not bashing or hating..just saying i expected a little more..still love yous and your parties and thanks for the offer on the drink but i dont drink :) :) |

If you're really that concerned you could have contacted us directly and asked us what happened. You didn't come out to the party so I'm not sure what your cocnern is anyhow. If you're not bashing, you still went ahead and posted about what we should or shouldn't have done, which to me is a bit of hating and bashing.

I think this is a bit of an overstatement. S&B's parties are usually pretty full and the ones that I've attended have had few recognizable TAs. Also, they didn't post an update on rhythmism, which I can guarantee accounts for more of their regulars than TA does. Sometimes people aren't sitting right in front of a computer all day. Not to mention I'm guessing they were trying to make alternate arrangements (modes of travel, extra DJ, etc.).
This isn't the first time that an act hasn't appeared because of flight problems and the Armin instance that you mentioned was the opposite situation, where a DJ wasn't expected to due to weather, but did. There was a time in 2005, I think, when Armin showed up at like 3:30 am after driving from DC because of flight issues. There was no advance notice that time and all through that night, I kept on hearing that "he's almost here." |

I think you guys are taking it a bit more personal then it should be. Gerard as well as others (who just happened to be online before heading out) didn't go out because we found out through someone else from texas, that Jody was stuck in Toronto.
It's just nice for people to post that due to weather conditions a headliner will not be making it. I'm sure S&B already have their fan base and I'm sure it wouldn't stop the majority of people from going to Sully.
It just would have been nice to know EARLIER considering the crazy snow fall affected Friday night parties in Toronto as well. TA's are a small percentage of club goers but you know we are the most dedicated.
That is all.
Thankfully, they will be booking him again and the weather should be better by then
