3 days in LA

I've got a trip to the US coming up and have 3 days in LA between a conference in San Diego and a tour leaving from LA.
Anyone got any suggestions as far as accomodation? People who have been, where did you guys stay?
I'm probably leaning more towards hostels cos I'm travelling by myself but any suggestions will be considered.

actually not until April but I'm trying to get as much sorted now (or at least have a good idea) cos its looking like March is gonna be out of control busy for me.
Plus I had to get my San Diego stuff organised now so i figured get it all knocked off in one hit. |

well, where in san diego is the conference? and are you looking for a cheap as hell stay since its so short or what? |

San Diego is all sorted, the conference is at the convention centre and I've got accomodation sorted at a conference booked hotel.
For LA I don't mind, obviously not Hilton, Hyatt, Crowne Plaza etc. Its gotta be affordable, like I said I'm leaning towards hostels but (decently priced) hotels will be considered. Because it is a short stay location is probably one of the more important things. Either one of the beaches or Hollywood or somewhere like that |

well there are hotels everywhere in the la area. what day will you be in la? and do you want something thats close to an EDM place? what are your intentions? |

Probably check out a club on friday night. Which one depends on what has good music on a friday night.
I'm mainly planning on taking it pretty easy and just checking out the sights, beaches, Hollywood, usual tourist stuff.
I dunno, seems most of the stuff is in the Hollywood type area so thats probably where I'm looking to stay each night unless a local can suggest a better place. |

well for clubs on a friday what sort of music do you like? if its house, then you MUST go to king king. has the best vibe and music for a friday. http://www.kingkinghollywood.com/. if its trance you seek, forbidden city is at hollywood and vine. saturdays you can choose from vanguard, avalon and circus.
as for hotels. theres tons. just search google maps and find the websites for rates. if you dont want to waste a ton of money calling you can pm the hotels to me and ill call them. :D |

I have presented in a conference at the Convention Center in 2006.
That was my first presentation in a major conference.
Was scared to speak in front of the "experts" |
