Was trance best in 03?

Listening to tiesto's gatecrasher NEC mix, and it just seems like 02-03 was the best for trance. Thoughts?
SYSTEM-J
Did you start listening to trance in 2003?
knowname
No. Been listening to EDM since the mid 90's. 03 was the time of my peak "party" days so that COULD be it. But honestly, listen to this mix again! Insane tracks. Are there any mixes that are new I might want to listen to?

it had its moments, but no

Trance was best before 99, on its beginning!

Just listen to PvDs remix of Love Stimulation and you will understand.

I don't understand this fixation with years. This year this, that year that... like it's a bottle of wine or something.

aren't most of those tracks released in 2002 and 2001 :)

i personally don't understand this which year is the best talk either, what does it matter what was the best year? it's gone and never coming back..

but with that said the period 1999-2001 had some great tracks

Hmm. I don't see why you think it was good, then. For me, if anything, it was one of the worst years for trance. 2002 wasn't too bad, but 2003 was really when I began to think "Hang on, something's going wrong in this scene".

If I had to pick a "best time for trance", I'd take 1996/1997. Progressive trance was at a real peak with Paul Van Dyk, BT, Chicane, Salt Tank, LSG et al, and psy/goa was very strong too: Perfecto Fluoro, Juno Reactor etc.

Ya i'd still prefer PvD in lets say 1999-2002..even Tijs was better in that time period.

But best trance sets imo are 98-99..specifically Oakenfold & Sasha in those yrs
Konijn
that set is from apr. of '02. your thesis is on shaky ground.
