| I don't think someone that willfully enlists in the Army can complain about being in combat...what did they expect to happen? |

Exactly. "Oh yay! I'm going to spread peace and love with hugs and kisses!!" |

Jesus Christ - it isn't as if he's whining because he didn't know what he was getting into. It's a rough situation that a lot of kids are in who didn't necessarily know they were going to be shipped off to such a war when they enlisted.
Cut him a ing break - you guys are being real assholes. |

Agreed, the military/going to combat is voluntary, but it's also (in my opinion) one of the most selfless acts possible. And I think everyone's entitled to bitch about stuff that sucks - I just didn't think you could compare having a cheating spouse to being in combat, or to being a nurse. Everything's got different levels of blowing.
C'mon, the guy's getting shot at - even if he did volunteer for it, he's just looking for some support.
Edit: RJT, couldn't agree more. Jennypie, you really are being a ****. But whatever, everyone's entitled to their opinion.
Edit 2: Wow, this board censors c*nt? |

Yeah well it sounds more like a pity party to me, and I don't support it.
Life's hard sometimes, deal with it.
There's my advice. |

I just think it's ultra to say " off, you deserve what you got" when in reality whether or not you agree with the war they're involved in has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that they're over there.
You really think every footsolider in Iraq is there saying "America, yeah - this war is awesome!"?
Please.
Use your ing brain. |

IED joke? That's pretty messed up, but now you've got me wondering. Not that you should post it here though. |

Some people may handle things in a different manner than you and therefore need to vent to others. What works for you may or may not be applicable to the general populous (even if it does apply to me :p) |

I also don't think that was part of the argument whatsoever (albeit maybe subtle subtext) :p |
