loving the Christian Vander sample, as I've been a huge fan of Magma. Tambours doesn't inspire much beyond what it really is - tambours.
i've read a lot of mixed feelings about this release...opinions? It screams being mixed in w/ a breakdown mix of Nina Simone's Sinnerman. |

| So happy it wont see a digital release. With all the hype around it the last thing we need is for it to hit the top download at beatport and have 500,000 mp3 bedroom jockeys playing it all the time. |

Pretty damn gimmicky, but I can see why people like it.
I won't be playing it anytime soon though. Way better stuff coming out. |

Same vein as Magic M, Heater, etc.
Will resonate with many, inspire hatred in many more, and be canned to death in a month.

'chants' rings in at an unnessicary 17 minutes long, no kick drum mind you, just basically piano over the chants with a hi hat.
'tambours' is the missing drums to the song
interesting concept, but would be more interesting if released digitally so people could better manipulate the hell out of this thing and edit it down by about 10 minutes. |

Pretty much standard procedure for Villalobos - all of his productions are needlessly long and self indulgent.
I have never understood it myself, but people go bananas for this fellows sets and productions.
Just not my cup of tea. |
