Hi and thanks for checking out my mix! I initially made this mix for a trip I was supposed to make to NYC, but that trip didn't happen so I figured I would upload it for anyone that's interested.
Maxwell dub is the alias I've started to use since I made my switch to 100% Ableton from CDJs. This mix is the second product of that switch and was recorded in Live 7 with my Ecler Evo 5. If anyone would like to download the template I use, let me know and I'll post it up. For anyone that cares, here's a brief summary of my template:
3 Channels, each with 3 band EQ & HP + LP Filters
6 Sends: 1 Resonated Delay (set to triplets), 1 "Phunky Delay" (also set to triplets), 1 Sonalksis Metaflanger, 1 dblue Glitch v1.34 VST, 1 Grit (Tarekith's redux rack), 1 Reverb (ArtsAcoustic Reverb)
Super Luper + Customized Autofilter on each channel
PSP Vintage Warmer + Xenon Limiter on Master Channel
Transform effect on master channel
Tracklist:
1. Snakestyle - Tuning In w/ Xpansul vs Monoblock - Hache
2. Mr V - Just Dance (Cosmic Ritual Dub)
3. Nick Curly - Silom (Forteba Remix)
4. Subsky - What U Want
5. Joshua Collins - One to Blame
6. Kalim Shabazz - Peak Bomb
7. Rodney Hunter - Wanna Groove (Wahoo Instrumental Mix)
8. Rene Brietbarth - Frisbee
9. Dousk - Street Talk (Bart van Wissen Remix)
10. Bermuda - Galaxy Race (Jussi Pekka Acid Remix)
11. Phonique - Casualities (Club Mix)
12. Talking Heads - Psycho Killer (Lexicon Avenue Remix)
13. Scary Grant - Chickens On The Wing (Cates & dpL Cross Rhodes Remix)
14. Chromeo - Bonafied Lovin' (Jori Hulkkonen Remix)
15. Stickroth & Ercolino - The Dwarf's Revenge
16. Dave Robertson - Cutting Back w/ Xpansul vs Monoblock - Hache

| Cool dude, I will post that up when I get home. Glad to see TA is developing a community of Ableton DJs. Maybe a seperate section is in order? |

Indeed. A DJ is a DJ in the sense that whether you're ing awful and boring or epic and win I don't particularly care what medium you're using.
And Max, there have been kids posting Ableton sets on here for years :p
This has been on my iPod for a bit but I haven't taken the plunge yet, will soon and let you know what I think.

Haha I'm not saying I'm the only one to post Ableton sets, I just think it would be cool to have Ableton TAs share their knowledge/templates in one place as there are just so many possibilities. I always wonder what the next guy is doing with his Ableton setup and if its something I might want to use as well. It would be cool to have a repository or a seperate forum for people to share their different ways of using Ableton, kind of like at abletonlivedj.com (I love that site!). The DJ booth often seems crowded with threads that have been discussed 1000 times before.
Anyway, thank you all for listening and having an open mind. I eagerly await your thoughts, Mr Turner. Will I see you at Zabs? |
