WestJet Offers $12 Flights For One Day

As the GTA suffers through another frigid day, many are booking vacations to Cuba, Mexico and other toasty warm destinations.

But if such a getaway is beyond your means right now, one carrier is offering a one-day deal that'll set you back a mere $12. WestJet is having a one day sale on flights between Toronto and Montreal or Ottawa.

The catch? You have to buy your tickets Thursday, and only on flights between March 1 and June 25, 2008. It's part of a special deal being offered on the company's 12th birthday.

Thursday's sale also applies to other cities in Canada but those flights will cost a bit more. For $39, passengers can fly one way from Toronto to Regina, Saint John, and Halifax. Other sale prices are listed below.

Before you go ahead and make that booking however, be aware that there's a limited number of seats at that fare, and they may not be available on all flights. The purchased flights are non-refundable, and the cost is still subject to taxes, fees and surcharges.

Apparently Air Canada has fares for around the same price in competition of the West Jet Deal.

When I looked. They charged different amounts for taxes for the departure and return trips. How the hell do you justify that?

Different airports have different fees.

Different airports have different fees.

But both ways, the same airports are being used. Maybe because they charge different amounts for departure and arrival?
