Weird monitor problem!

yway,i have some sort of viewing problem with my Viewsonic monitor.
I own a CRT E790 monitor for 1 and almost a half year and i recently changed from resolution to resolution a few times, and i mean i changed the dpi,the resolution and later the frame rate but not to overcome the screen's capabilities. When i finally decided i didnt want a change and got everything to it's previous state,i encountered this strange problem: when i start my pc up and i have my settings to get the max out of my monitor(streched to full screen completely but not to cut any of the viewing) i see that it's cut off in the up and down of the vertical, some pixels only like half a centimetre or something but it's really annoying...
the strange thing is that after i recalibrate it to fit exactly on what i get at the startup, some time passes(like 10-15 minutes) and the screen appears to have place for more streching!i stretch out again and guess what, next time i start my pc it has the top and bottom a bit cut off!So pixels only but it really get's on my nerves cause it keeps repeating, even if i dont stretch to max and leave it as it is it will afterwards appear to have space for more!!!
I'd be grateful if u would help me out,i'm almost desperate!

my friend spilled water in mine one time in and went black for a couple hours but luckily came back to normal a day later.

hmm...maybe just the monitor's getting old

usually takes about 1/2 an hour for monitors to warm up...so it may change slightly...ie. when it starts up the screen maybe one size/colour/etc. but after a while when it's been running for a while it will have changed size/colour/etc.

or maybe it's just faulty...don't know about your particular monitor, but just about all of them these days have some sort of memory to remember settings for each resolution/refresh rate

btw...as a side note...also in relation to sothis's thread...it's good to have the refresh rate at least 72MHz (75MHz is closest for most monitors)...it's the standard for minimum refresh or something...some monitors at high resolutions will default to 60MHz, which appears to flicker & is bad for your eyes...try and choose the highest refresh for each resolution as even 75MHz appears to flicker for some people. i know most trinitron screens will go upto 100+MHz, but it's nice to have around 85MHz or so.

SmellsExcellent
if you ignore the problem it will go away!! ;)

I'm pretty sure this is it. My own monitor has the same problem, but I can't afford to replace it right now, which is about the only solution.
