I believe it says that Menno de Jong is one of the world's best DJ's and will soon be #1 on the DJMag charts, but I really don't speak Dutch. :D
If anyone can scan using OCR, there's always www.freetranslation.com, which will get you close but not quite perfect. Trust me though, it's not much different than what I said above! :) |

He says San Francisco is crazy to him, in a very good way. If a dutchman can feel at home while away from home, it's in San Francisco.
Says the environment is unique to america with the victorian houses, alcatraz, the bridges, etc....but another phenonenon exists....
...and that's the club goers...we are really knowledgeable and that we really do our best to enjoy life.
(I find this interested, cause I had a convo with a friend years back who knows Armin well and he always talked about how Armin loves SF because of the same things mentioned above...says it feels a lot like home!)
Talks abou doing the dinner, going to haight street, and I think he evens mentions 222 hyde (theres' a mention of "222" in there!). Did he go there? Think he says something about feeling like he was in a Prodigy video in there lol.
Talks about long island iced teas...
And did he get pizza after all was done? It's funny, seems like when the dutchmen come to SF and order something, it's always pizza....I remember last time SvD was here, he was given a pizza before leaving Ruby and ran out the door with it to go eat it lol...
Anyhow, here's the section of the article i kinda translated this from....how I did it was I took the URL olf the PDF file and used Adobe's online PDF to HTML/Text conversion tool (http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/access_onlinetools.html)...then copied the text and put it into babelfish. :-p
Back in the late 90s I used to translate Japanese sites every night to cover entertainment news for the place I worked and got pretty good at deciphering through all the garble the translaters give you, lol.
| quote: | | Club or kroeg syndrome took however some weeks suffered in San Francisco an inversion bizarre for me. If Dutchman can feel you at home undoubtedly immediately in the homebasehomebase homebase ` Frisco. The city has an environment unique for America, in which is himself, tolerantie and ` the joy or life play an important role. Beside the oogstrelende Bay Area, the splendid Victorian houses, applied Gate bridge, Alcatraz and that funny straatje that the zigzagging undulating town landscape of San Francisco incur here still a another phenomenon exists: the club kroeg! Everyone who is deeply of within kroegtijger, but is or its truth I have found in the Clubscene here undoubtedly as a fish in water will feel myself. The discovery went as follows: An acquaintance, met at a previous action in San Francisco, was ready on the fly field to drive with me to the hotel. After what chats in the car he let fall that that evening what had agreed people of the well-known international trance forum ` TranceAddict with each other in a small tent in the city. That seemed me also sociable, always then on improve tour sit to be and then solitary on the hotel chamber. Still even rapidly what listens to arriving tunes on Intuition by means of audiokabeltje of MacBook to TV. Sorry for the volume neighbours in the adjacent hotel chamber... Time for ritje direction the fameuze buurt around Haight Street to eat because a hapje for you the weet knort your flatulence again! After excellent traditional Mexican burrito in small tentje and an interesting conversation political, culturals difference and the dance dance-scene under the genot of Mojito and Hookah (water pipe), it became time the case (trance Addicts) go up to zoeken. We found them in barretje approximately as broad as my student chamber. The interesting kroegje with the name 222 were characterised by dark, sfeervolle and rather traditional equipmentequipment equipment and a high ceiling. The elongated space led to keldertje where a complete DJ setup stood, and very well geluidsset. The ` people room contained in contrast to the rather neat interieur graffiti and all kinds of coole gimmicks, it felt as if I was myself in Prodigy video clip. With regard to timing I fell with my nose in butter: the bar existed 4 years, and fourth this exact that evening with an open bar. Open - bar? Indeed, I do not believe that this term is confessed at Dutch or in the dikke Van Dale is recognised. Is possible it still improve? Jazeker. Music existed, as it happens, from a spontaneous combination of Latin house and related styles. Environment was characterising for a dance celebrates, the gezelligheid was not inferior for an evening in the kroeg! There products ` followed matrix moment. After some time perplexed to have stood fell the dubbeltje: this is possible sometimes about an evening becomes! After tijdje the ` appeared real celebrate not here to be, but eindje verderop. Then we in similar but something more wide setting wildly-game-wild-dancing public and minimal found techno there the evening was complete! A lot of Long-Island Ice Tea's and shooters later floated I with the trance Addicts dancing and satisfied by the Clubkroeg, the phenomenon entirely for me new; the ultimate combination of PLUR and gezelligheid. Some by on happening? fence time of 2 hours ` s night, and no after party. As a culinary alternative and clincher of the terrible night we have made the local pizza tent still even unsafe under the genot of the American speciality: a considerable fat mouthful! - Menno the young www.mennodejong.com photograph: Gilbert Rizo CLUB OR KROEG? Ok, I was really interested, so I'll help this much (subject to the limits of machine translation!):
As dance lover know you it fixed well: that strange feeling when you in a bar stands. a,. It is not enng, is knocks it not boring, but there usual something not. In the Netherlands light it a clear line between club and koreg, one goes to chatter to a bar, and to and club to dance.
But why get you sometimes that odd feeling in the bar? Lies it at deschelle music that through the speakers thunders? The vague drappe, little lighted spaces? The unashamed hunt on man or woman?
The sociability makes naturally much good, as I made have as an inhabitant of end courts already often with. In short, it can be really amusing, but the lack of PLUR (American notion in the dance scene for peace, praise, unity and respect) is missing sometimes a little bit. Even the amusing experiences of an evening Stratum do not take away with me the lack of the club-culture.
...
Time for a ride direction the famous neighborhood around Haight Street a snack to eat for for you the knowledge knort your stomach again! After an excellent traditional Mexican burrito in a small to and an interesting conversation over politics, culture difference and the dance-scene under the enjoyment of a Mojito and and Hookah (water pipe), the time became to go seek the TA on. |

Menno did go to 222 Hyde -- they were celebrating their 3yr anniversary and had an open bar (think he had pizza there too or at least a slice) followed by Matador, Anu and almost Insomnia but that got shutdown... We chilled at the pizza place by Insomnia for a good while having a lot of fun and seriously having a fat mouthful :stongue: |
