Similarly the Dark Train mix of Dark and Long is fairly unrelated to the orginal.

The M.I.K.E. mix of 2 Unlimited - No Limits is a nice different interpretation of the track.

Absolutely brilliant track, by the way.

- not sure what is supposed to be the relation between the original Born Slippy and the NUXX vocal version besides the same title basis but there surely isn't anything else in common; all the tracks on the original '95 Born Slippy release sound totally different with each other yet they share the same main title.
- same goes for all the countless remixes of the NUXX version, which are just as said, remixes of the NUXX version, not remixes of the original version.

Something to do with the UK's CD Single regulations back then iirc. All tracks had to be versions of a single song. They changed the main title to "Born Slippy" for all the tracks on the single just to get around that.

Then again I might be completely off.

If yes, it somehow does sound similar to Dj Taucher's? I mean, i always confused them as one single tune lol. Well this one has an extra riffy section but nevertheless the main riff and the overall sound is identical, no?

No! That's NOT the original mix of Ayla - Ayla from early 1996 but actually Kosmonova - Ayla from 1997 which is a rather cheesy remake of Taucher's remix of Ayla and also uses some ideas from Ayla - Ayla part II which again is a totally different track. Funnily enough Taucher remixed Kosmonova's remake as well, in '97 and that remix sounds is a bit darker than his original Ayla remix.

THIS is the original mix of Ayla - Ayla. Taucher ditched the main melody and turned the track over with his remix by using and adjusting the secondary melody from the original.

the sounds are there, Solaris Heights just downpitched the original sample down to and then altered the main melody a bit.

I'd just like to take this opportunity to express my love for this mix. Absolutely fantastic.

+1. When I heard the original after hearing the NUXX version first my thoughts were "Wtf! Is this the same track?" :wtf:

It's a stunning track. John Digweed used it on his 03/9/95 Essential Mix, and to make it even better he pulls off a four and a half minute melodic transition into a remix of Daphne's Change. One of the best things I've ever heard.

EDIT: Wrong date on that EM.

thanks for clearing this up. now if you would also tell the story of what is ayla part 2, part 3, part 4, part 5, part 6, part 7.... :D
did ayla ever have anything to do with the 4 voices - eternal spirit / kaycee - escape melody?
