Yeh i have had doubts that actually being the truth for years but never got any confirmation for it. Only know about the several times changed length rules with the max 20 min singles and max 25-40 min maxis. |

It used to be 40 minutes a single, then 20 minutes in 1998 and then back to 40 in 2003. In 2003 the rule was definitely "if it's remixes of one track", but I'm not at all sure about pre-1998. |

| the pre 1997 rule is like the current rules. two singles, 1 single can be multitude of tracks, max 20minutes. second single just variations/remixes of the main track. max 40minutes |

Yeh i know what the length rules have been and are right now, just wasn't sure about how they were with some of the Underworld singles/maxis..
Currently active UK cd length chart rules, since October 2007:
- 1-2 track cd singles (max 2 song titles) 15 minutes
- 2-4 track cd maxis (max 4 song titles) 25 minutes
- remix cd maxis (1 song title; remixes) 40 minutes |

heh, likewise with the starecase remix of the same tune. another totally different track altogether (with even less similarity than transa's) |
