Fear not, Marie, for it will be a lot easier for you to excercise after you stop smoking... I'm sure these extra kilos you might gain can be lost quickly ;)
Moongoose
Yes, what he said. Totally.

marie, as previously said, exercise will keep the kilos off. also replace smoking with something like chewing gum or eat a piece of sugar free candy. also dont drink more coffee if you add sugar and creme to it. it will help with putting on a few kilos that your trying to avoid.

If you exercise enough, you'll WANT to quit smoking because continuing the habit is counter-productive toward it and only makes it harder.

So, exercise.

so here is some advice

yes i still smoke, but i'm not an addict...seriously.
i don't smoke in the summer too fecking hot here.
i usually smoke only in the winter, and about a pack every two weeks.
so i usually go through a couple of months without one.

if you have friends that smoke, stay away, or just ask them not to smoke around you. find other things to do, to keep yourself busy. it's for a habit so you should probably keep something 'clean' that resembles the dimensions of a cigarette to put in your mouth every one in a while.

you will probably need support, more than an actual forum can provide, someone who can tell you how good you are doing, to keep you motivated, to STOP you if you reach for one.

or you can do what i did when i stopped taking drugs. i just said, 'that was my last one' and that was it.

good luck!!!

I havent had a cig in 2 1/2 years. My appetite went crazy for the better. I cant stand fast food anymore. Maybe because I can finally taste it. I do eat Taco Bell though. :haha: Cigarettes can cause hang overs too.
silene
I don't smoke unless I'm drunk or high, and even then not always. Anyways, it's been about 2 months since I touched a cigarette. Friday night I went through about 2 packs in 4 hours - then nothing again. Holy I'm sweating right now! :p

marie, it's almost been a month (march 18th) that i haven't smoked a cig and in just this short amount of time i have noticed how much greater i feel. i stopped by taking chantix. i don't know if they have it in france but the medicine helps to block the nicotine to the brain and it didn't make me have that jittery, nervous type thing you have while trying to quit. i can finally breath again, i am not coughing all the time, and i can finally enjoy the taste of food again. i have gained some much needed weight also. i have also cut down my soda intake and started drinking lots of tea, water, and juice. now alcohol drinking i haven't quite conquered yet and i know it will take some time for me. just know you can do it and if you need someone to talk to, i'm here :)

good luck!! i know it's hard but you can do it!
