just leave it dude.. i figured out with the MANY Pc vs Mac threads.. people really put up a fuss about it .. its a matter of personal preference and i could care less what some people think.. i like the look of apple products and the interface and i personally just PREFER to use OSX .. always have .. and i got used to it .. if im brainwashed.. cool! lol

People will always hate on other people that are more successful then they are.. look how everyone suddenly hates rogers for some reason.

And yea i just got a hp tablet pc laptop thingy.. for one purpose lol. cuz the server client that i use to monitor panels and accounts for work will not work in osx.. other then that i just prefer using osx .. personally .

I quite like it when Apple zealots tout their "superior quality hardware."

im never buying an apple laptop again, or any apple product for that matter, build quality, for top dollar.

HOW THE DO RAM MODULE CONTACTS GET CORRODED ?!?!?!?!
MarkT
gee, how did I know that this thread would degenerate into a "PC vs. Apple" argument, lol.

so predictable :p

I think it has something to do with how their service is...

some examples:

- removing some files/folders (as administrator, under Vista, UAC disabled... folders locked with access only to old "administrator" from previous install)
- completely removing traces of software that doesn't properly log locations of all associated files and/or doesn't properly log all changes to reg
- recoving "runaway" memory that the OS loses track of after the procs occupying that space have long stopped running (without rebooting)
- optimal usage of system resources (running procs properly straight to RAM without using swap when RAM amount would allow this... without having to remove swapfile entirely which is potential disaster)
- optimal setup of running background procs without having to spend an hour fishing through and googling everything under services
- driver madness aka "trials and tribulations of the wonderful free open non-proprietary-ruled PC world" (XP deciding one day to never boot again, weeks and many reboots after any potential driver/hardware changes and same config booting and running fine under Vista)

What absolute, total crap. Of the items on this list that are actually real problems, as opposed to ones that you created for yourself or simply imagined, only one of them has any connection to PCs/Windows. That's the file security "issue", which exists for an extremely good reason, and takes all of 30 seconds for you to "fix" when you're the local Administrator with physical access to the disk.

Just wondering, what is it that you fight with your Windows about?

Ok, maybe 'fight' was too strong a word. It's more like the little things. I just feel my workflow is much smoother on OSX; little things like expose and how the computer handles file managements. For example, I can move, copy, delete, or do just about anything i want on OSX while a certain file is open. The link is maintained. On XP, an app would hog the priveleges to a file and not let me move, copy, etc.

Often it takes 2 clicks to do something in OSX that needs 5 in XP. I don't hate Windows, I just prefer OSX. I use both daily.

And Rogers is garbage, and evil. Especially their cell network with its ridiculous data charges. We need competition up here; good thing T-Mobile is coming up in 2009. :)

hehe Jem..if you like south of nowhere download episodes of Kick from Australia...very cute storyline with these two girls :)

oh, BTW I don't care if it costs more...I love my iMac/iPhone/iPod etc. I'm a girl and yes they do look pretty.

If I can pay over a thousand for a purse (much like a lot of girls) paying a premium for a cute computer is worth it.

lol what advantages exactly? You pay quite a bit more for a more sleek-looking interface with no real operating functional advantages, and fairly lackluster hardware.
