Is there anything I can buy to records my sets to, like a recorder or whatever so I don't use my PC/Laptop? And then later I can upload to my pc.

im loving my zoom H2!

Yes, I have the Zoom H2 as well. Cheaper than the other solutions out there, but it works fantastically well.

Avoid the iKey like the plague.

I'm pretty sure this is the same unit that John 00 Fleming uses to record his set.. Never heard him complain about it..

Zoom H2. Excellent device.
Ryan0751
Well, it's more than half the price of the zoom. Plus you need to hang off of it external storage (USB) to record to.

Audio quality on the unit is not very good. There is no display to monitor your levels. There is no menu system to set the unit up (also due to no display),

It's big. It doesn't have mics in it.

The Zoom (and microtrack, and edirol, etc.) are pro units. You can record in MP3, WAV up to 24/96, they support mics and do VERY well for recording live bands as well, they can be used as a card reader (just plug it in and copy your files off it).

The Zoom H2 can even be used as a sound card and USB microphone if you want.

Seems like a no-brainer.

I'm really tempted to get something like this - I've always thought that a decent live set can be a much better demo than one recorded at home... of course it would be even better if you had a full professional sound rig recording the crowd going right off as well! ;)
Ryan0751
Yeah I've done that with my Zoom H2, jacked into the mixer and was good to go. The club has a CD recorder, but it was broken (plus you only get 80 minutes of recording). I recorded my entire 5 hour set no hickups.
