If you go, do NOT get their chow fun. Omg it was gross haha. But their lettuce wraps are A+++++++++ and Cashew Chicken :tongue3

Oh ok ill heed ur advice abt the chow fun, lol. I'm usually iffy abt most Americanized places. I thought PFs was somewhat fusion tho...no? Not at all? Lol

I think it says Chinese Bistro outfront. I really have no idea what that means.

It's a nice restaurant. Expensive. So special occasions only :)

There's a lot of good things on Long Island that not many people know about. Instead of heading out to the Hamptons, try going to the North Fork and checking out Greenport for Memorial Day, 4th of July, or Labor Day weekends. Completely different crowd of people, but still a good time.

If you like wine, we have a bunch of fairly decent wineries out East. Many of them offer tours and tasting, so you can make a pretty good day out of that.

Towns like Huntington and Manhasset are full of great restaurants and places to check out. Been to Sushi Ya, Taiko, and Nagahama and they're all great restaurants. I just checked out Satsuko in Lynbrook - small place but it ranked in Newsday's top 25 restaurants on Long Island, and the food was top notch.

The south shore is really making a comeback, especially in places such as Long Beach and Rockville Center. IMO, I'd take a day at Long Beach and that boardwalk over the crowd at Jones Beach.

You often have to tolerate the guidos, but when doing so keep in mind that they are usually still living with their parents while leasing their nice BMW, and their cookie cutter personalities and looks have no potential for a future.

The women are attractive, but a majority of them carry some of the most stuck up, bitchy attitudes of any people in the world. The one benefit about growing up interacting with LI girls is that if you can pick one of them, you can probably pick up any type of girl.

All in all, not a bad place to live/grow up in. There's no reason for it to be it's own state however.

" a few clowns short of a circus" <-- for some reason i lol'd at this :tongue2

OMG bay ridge...i lived there for almost a year back in 2002. not to belittle the awesome food that is obviously there...but I still remember the BEST meatball parmigiana hero AND chicken roll i have EVER had at a pizzarera near where i used to live. i dunno, i haven't had such a good one since...

mann if it wasnt THAT far from the city (1.5 train ride on the N/R) i would have stayed there. it was soo safe (even safer than Queens i felt and i grew up in Queens) and never a problem ever.

I think they do have some slightly more authentic dishes, or at least some offerings that they don't have at typical Chinese restaurants. That is the best thing about working around here :D We have our vendors come over for a meeting and then they take us out to lunch and usually let us choose the place. Free EXPENSIVE food! :D hahah

Hehe LI>NYC for dining. You can drive and don't have to deal with gridlock and crazy cab drivers. The restaurants are typically cleaner, not as packed, and you get good service with less of that "attitude" and they pretty much have the same selection of restaurants.

yeah but there's a big difference with being raised in Miami.. we don't have mom & pop family restaurants.

Usually food chains run our town. So I was just saying how it reminds me of miami because of walmarts n food chains all in one shopping center. [Plus Roosevelt Field Mall which makes it even MOAR win! ;)]

But I have never tried that place and yes Bay Ridge is really close by. I'll look into it :)

Z- I be jealous :( . Where do you live because thankfully there was no traffic going there Tuesday night and it was still a 40 min drive!

I'm in Queens. I take the Northern State to get there and with no traffic on the weekends it takes about 20-25 minutes. During the week with traffic at rush hour it takes about 35 minutes.

Mel...the next time you are in LI and get a craving for Olive Garden try Vincent's instead. It's Italian and seafood, only a few blocks away from Olive Garden in a shopping center across the street. Good prices, huge portions and the food is GREAT! They also have a bar ;)
Also Bacci...it's a little smaller than Vincent's but there food there is awesome.
