Well let me tell you, I don't know what possesed me to set foot in "the new Guv" yesterday but i did.. Big mistake.
I guess it was the hope that with the new renovation that the Guv would attract a much better crowd, boy was i wrong!
I don't know if anyone else has felt it before, but when I walk in to Guv on a regular Saturday night I immediately get pissed off, I don't know why. I mean that place has the worst vibe i have ever felt in any club!! People are rude and have consideration for anyone else; I can't even stand in one place without getting rudely bumbed 5 times in 5 seconds in there.
The bouncers think they are gods and think that they can just launch anyone out of their way, like for sake we are clients, have a little bit of respect!!!
I will never set foot in that club on a regular Saturday night again, period.
Also, WRT the sound system that was suposedly at 50% on Wednesday, what a crock of ! Sounded the same yesterday, straight up! Renovations are very well done but the club definitely needs a change in atitude, because it is just not cool in there. I went to Systems to see OO and Joy and the crowd was amazing, everyone one was kool...
Anybody else have any comments?? |

What made you think that the renovations will bring a change of attitude or different people? I agree that it is an awful crowd, but I just won't stop partying because of that. I got enough of regular Saturdays, but I'll go see a special DJ there anytime.
And the bouncers :rolleyes: We got turned away at the door last night around 03:30 'cause the place apparently reached full capacity. I could just imagine how jammed it was inside. |

| Well i definitely won't stop partying either, but i just won't do it at Guv on Saturdays.. I mean there are lots of options in this city and honestly i do not like what Guv has to offer anymore... |

| Ah last night was crazy :whip: I like the touch ups they did to guv, but in hell the crowed was in baaaaaad as sh!t. I met like 3 cool people and rest were all ed up :whip:. The orange room was still the same. I realy like what they did to the Acid Lounge looks alot better then before but still there are those dumb ass people who just sit around the whole night like its there house in they are in. :rolleyes: the AC in there was wicked though nice place to chill out for sure :D the lazers were wicked! they set that up realy good :D if any one need to get cold water go to the Orange room :D they have cold in there :D :D :D what else what else it wasent that hot in there the fans did help alot. I would go back on a normal saterday night again in hope that there will a better some time in the summer. |

I was there last night and had an AMAZING TIME!!! So did all of my friends and other people I talked with. lol...its funny how some people can have such opposite tastes on something...whatever, to each their own, if u dont like it dont go back...simple as that...
also i thought the crowd last night was alot better than it has been in a long time, there werent as many asian people...and altho there were still some ratty looking people inside guv they did filter out quite a few people from the club...it will only get better in the weeks to come, or in the eyes of people like yourselves WORSE!!!
and oh yea MARK OLIVER ING KILLED LAST NIGHT!!!
that was the best set I have heard at GUV all year...hard prog., techy stuff...little no bull cheesey trance AT ALL...just some good pumping hard rolling basslines all night long...
i gave the night a 9/10!!!

| we need do accept the guv and intoxicate ourselves more to enjoy it better...i dont think a massive trance night can make it financialy :mad: lets be grateful that we live in a city big enough to bring in some well knowns for special events |

I laugh it off, as do most other people i know, seriously!!!
why? because we know that the same people that complain about too much attitude at guv are the same ones that go to holes like system or your other dirty ratty rave holes...!!!
dont worry stick to your dirty holes and ill stick to places like fluid on sunday, guv/jai bar on saturdays, inside on fridays!!!
and well all be happy ok???!!!

listen man..why are you saying that system or other clubs are holes :rolleyes: ya their -holes, while your smart ass, everytime u go to guv, your ass stays up in the drink lounge and do jack all the whole night, not even going downstairs and see wats happening :rolleyes: ya you do that, stay up there, on the TOP and laugh at as ;) we all have our opinions, and we go to the GUV for the musik, not just to be there...
really, en guv sux! people there dont have vibe at all, and they just come there coz its the GUVERNMENT! its just stands for the name, coz its the biggest club in toronto :rolleyes: its just sad that mark oliver who is a great dj spins for that club, shame :rolleyes:
i already said wat i had about guvernment and i just dont care anymore about it :) but dont say anything other clubs, coz really system & comfort zone are prolly the best clubs in toronto (musik wise and people) |

Whats wrong with me expressin negative views towards the clubs you enjoy going to. It's ok for other people to say that Guvernment and its patrons are this and that but as soon as someone on here says something to the same effect about a place like System Soundbar then it is not ok. Right that makes alot of sense...those places are ing DIRTY!!! If you dont like me saying that then too bad for you and everyone else on this board that does not like me saying that because I wont stop saying things like that. EVER!!! Just like most of you will never stop whining about Guvernment.
As for me going to the Drink lol...I RARELY IF EVER go up to the drink!!! And if I do then I just go up to say hi to friends that like going there. When I go to GUV I go for one reason and one reason only, to hear Mark Oliver play. And even if I did go to the Drink on a regular basis, what would be wrong with that??? You know just because a club has a dress code, it does not mean that the vibe or people up there will be ty. Most people that go places like Inside, Fluid, Drink were ONCE A PART OF THE RAVE SCENE! But you know what? People grow out RAVES and dirty places. I know that might be dificult for you to comprehend but it is true. Maybe as you grow older as did I and many ther people your tastes in parties might change. The promoters of ZRF used to be ravers themselves...anyways whatever...It seems like when most of you go out, you go out with an enforced preconception that your night will be no matter what happens just because you are going to GUV...that is what it looks like from my standpoint...!!! I may be wrong but somehow I dont think I am... |
