He posted the following in his MySpace blog...
I wish them both the best and will do what I can to support each!
I love the reasoning...in my post (which I think was deleted), I said I expected them to do the friendly thing and say they're just going different directions as artists....and it's the exact reason! Maybe it's true...maybe it isn't....there's the obvious reasons that will spread but truth is I doubt more than a few people really know everything and those people won't be talking...
Anyhow, his post on his MySpace blog...

rumors, truths, hello
hello friends and fans
some of you may have noticed that i have not checked into myspace at all this year. it has been quite a few troubling months for me and frankly i just didn’t know what to say here, but now i can talk freely and participate in the community and so please accept this blog as my grand hello.
yes, the rumor is true. Gabriel & Dresden and parted ways for the time being. Over the past year, Josh and i have been moving apart as artists and we decided rather than milk it and be moderately happy together that we separate and examine ourselves as individual artists for a while. Our final date was the beatport pool party in miami on march 30th. For those who were there, i want to thank each and every one of you for showing Josh and I the love and support that you did. A lot of the set was songs that we have individually been working on interspersed with a few fan favorites. I will remember that hour and 15 minutes forever because i certainly felt the love with all the hands in the air and the well-wishes.
After WMC i went into the hospital to have shoulder surgery. I had a torn rotator cuff and after years of constant dislocations to my shoulder, i wanted to get that out of the way so that i can be 100% when i hit the road in mid-may as a solo artist.
I have also been very busy in the studio with my own music. I made a track with my good friend chris cox back in february called "Hole Wide" - it samples a relatively obscure song from the 80’s band tears for fears "advice for the young at heart" and it’s the kind of feel-good house i have always wanted to make but never did. Some of you may have caught it on pete tong’s essential selection show yesterday. if you didn’t check out the bbc.co.uk/radio1 site and have a listen to the show. he played it right before the essential new tune.
it will take a few more weeks for me to recover fully from my operation and then i will announce my tour plans.
and for the 1000’s of people who have reuested to be my friend, please be patient, i will add all of you.
godspeed,
dave
p.s. i’d also like to thank all of those who voted for gabriel & dresden "best american dj" for the 2nd year running. it was an excellent way for us to go out: a bang!

I hope Dave pulls through (and blows up) and shows the Haters whats up...
His production skills are AMAZING, yet a lot of people don't seem to under stand that. |

Well, hope Dave has learned the software to do it...because at least when they first started Dave helped Josh on the creative side, but Josh did all the Logic stuff as Dave didn't know it.
Just look at all the dif collabs Dresden has done over time that have all turned out well....think a lot of people will say the other person did most of the work because it's Dave...but fact is he must be doing something if he's able to do good things with all these producers.
For one, I really hope he gets back with Ryland (think that's his name) and does more tracks under Attention Deficit.... |

Josh Gabriel is the most talented of the two.

Also classic...
But for me G&D haven't been interesting since that remix they did of Weekend Players... That was a while ago. :D Can't say I'm too broken up about their breaking up. ;) |

Classic indeed. Josh Gabriel - Wave 3 is probably one of my top tracks of all time. It sounds like it was Border Community before there was one. Top notch production all around. He must have been high on some good stuff while making it, its one of those tracks that you feel like your on something just listening to it...the filter, flanger, and phaser work is sick. The Charlie May Undertow and Tsunami mixes are quality as well. |
