Ooh also been absolutely in love with Fairfield Porter lately, although in no small part because a) my girlfriend likes his stuff, but more importantly b) he does a lot of his painting at a small privately owned island in Maine that's right near a place my family owns, so the scenery and terrain is familiar and really soothing, god I love that place :p

It's been pretty interesting to check back in on this thread this morning - I posted it literally the moment before I went to bed last night.
Seeing the kinds of paintings a lot of you enjoy has both introduced me to some new pieces I really like, but also for some of you it has been kind of a "Huh, never would have thought" experience.
