Cielo is the best club up here and book great techno & house dj's on Thursdays. Last night was Chris Lake and it was fun !
Matthew Dear is also playing @ the Museum of Natural History in the Space Center later this month. Last month's party was siiick. |

Weekdays they book great dj's because the place is way packed on the weekends. Thursdays are the main nights with dj's like Chris Liebing and Joris Vorn & Steve Bug.. rest were house dj's.

cielo has occasional good nights but it's definitely not part of the techno scene. probably my favorite sound system in the city, and a nice space, great lighting, etc, but cielo usually reeks of pretense, tourists, or just generally clueless s looking to get drunk. deep space with francois k is a party not to be missed, however - completely different crowd
but when i think of 'techno scene' in the Detroit or Berlin sense of the word, cielo is pretty far from that.
this is a minimoo for instance, troy pierce playing in a secret location
matthew dear played the minimoo the week after troy pierce - it was also ing crazed
the bunker party where this happened is a party usually filled with people who know what the hell is up, so that makes this very unfortunate |

yeah i just moved up here exactly a year ago but i already know of the minimoo parties.
would hopefully like to attend one but i'm not on their list. I know a few TA's that are ;)
You can't deny Cielo's insane sound system. Thursday tend to have the tourist crowd because it's prob bringing in the ppl that couldn't get into Tenjune haha. |
