i've been on a big downtempo/trip-hop/chill-out/chill drum & bass kick lately, and i was just curious as to what some of your favorites in this genre are. artist albums, mixed compilations, whatever... as long as it's good chillin' music.

some of my favorites:

Lost Orchestra - Bodywarmer
Lemongrass - Skydiver (can't say enough good things about this one, seriously. easily of the best CDs i've heard in a long time.)
Burial - Untrue
Ulrich Schnauss - A Strangely Isolated Place
Various - OM Chilled: Vol 2
Audio Lotion - Advanced Skin Care
Fenomenon - Hourglass
Felix Laband - Dark Days Exit
Tosca - Suzuki
Thievery Corporation - The Mirror Conspiracy
Bent - The Everlasting Blink
Various - Chilled Out Euphoria mixed by Solar Stone
KiloWatts & Vanek - Focus & Flow
first disc of Supperclub Arrogance

i'm especially interested in albums that are programmed impeccably. a lot of albums i listen to seem to have a few great tracks but overall the album is just okay. i want albums that are amazing from start to finish, where the whole album just makes sense, without having to skip any tracks because they just feel out of place.

IDM, Ambient stuff I recently discovered:

Peter Benisch - Soundtrack Saga (chillout)
Ovulca - Wasted Sunday (sounds like James Holden)
Influx - Razorblades and Icecream (Dnb ambient (tight cd11))
Boymerang - Balance of the Force (several different types of DnB)
Mouse on Mars - Iaora Tahiti (awesome, glitchy, smokin japanese babe)

Have been getting into IDM recently too.
Happy searching

I recommend at least the original 1996 release of Logical Progression, but don't mix it up with the 2001 "reissue" which has an additional Level 1 in the title. That's almost a totally different release. The pressings for different continents seem to have slight differences in the cuts of the tracks on disc 1 tho, not sure if they're just misprints on the cover or actual differences.

Smooth drum'n'bass just the way i like it. Features some of Bukem's finest works to date and also some of the best tracks released on his label Good Looking Records. :p
