My discogs experience has been excellent.
One record didn't arrive, I threw a hissy fit, and the guy re-sent, without even asking for proof that it didn't arrive!
All mine have been in good condition too.
Bought about 10 times total. |

I wanted to come into this thread and say something about what a bad decision it is to take the "vinyl path", but in the end all I have to say that I really admire people who still make the effort to collect and play vinyl. It's not an easy or practical thing to do in the least, but if you're really just doing it because you personally love vinyl, I think that's pretty awesome.
No advice here as I sold off most of my vinyl years back, but just thought I'd let all you vinyl whores know how neat I think the effort you guys make is.

fact: i earn 700-800 ing $ a month
fact: i plan to spend 200 $ each month
fact: i have only 2 records so far
fact: i already spent >200 $ on beatport/audijelly stuff
fact: my goal is 700+ records, 200 of which can be considered rare (that means at least 30-40 $ per record)
:D ooohhh yeah;) |

| Call me crazy but I actually downgraded to vinyl, partly beacuse I have had very bad experiances with the Numark CDN95 Dual CD player, in less then a year one of the CD drives failed, I took it in to get it fixed, and whithin a month it failed again, and the other CD drive is following the same fate, so now i use Numark TTXUSB's and i have gotten nothing but love from them, they are th most reliable peices of gear I have, and IMO vinyl is alot easier for me to use then CD, probably beacuse I have had so many problems with the CDN95 not working properly |

More of a "switch" than a downgrade. |

| well lets not be picky about the definition lol, but since this is an age of laptops and computer programs and DJ's who either have amazing talent and use ableton or serato to streanthen their already masterd skill, or those who use computer programs beacuse they have no skill at all, it would be called downgrading to the old format, but no offence intended with that word |

your problem is that you had Numark CDJs
piece of
vinyls are so cool... I love it whenever I get a chance to spin some vinyls (even if I end up trainwrecking sometimes because I get pretty rusty) |

| can anyone PLEASE describe in details the procedure of buying vinyl from Discogs Marketplace. Discogs says all I have to do is add the desired vinyl to my card, then press "checkout", them the Seller should send detailed info on the total and payment method. what I don't see is any proof or at least a confirmation that the Seller has the desired vinyl. should I send a prior message via the Discogs messaging system or should I just press "checkout" and cross my fingers? |
