Can you imagine the possiblities? You're searching for something and can't find it in the auction and here you have the link to someone selling the stuff from their website. Revenue stream either way - click or buy.

I can't understand why they haven't jumped on that yet. The brand is there, the money is there, the payment system is even in place... and the DEMAND/MARKET IS THERE! What else do they need? Ebay needs a serious competitor, IMHO. People would be switching in droves, I think. Yet Goog made no move. strange.

there have been multiple rumours for a Google auction, or online paiement system .... rumours which never came to be.

I thought Google Checkout was supposed to be PayPal competitor... dunno whatever happened with that. Meanwhile, old article from 2006 reflecting pretty much what I said:

yeah I looked it up after I made my comment ... it's alive and well ... but I think it's a joke.

Did some google buy searching just now and the articles I found were not found on the merchants websites... yeah great how dissapointing coming from google

its going to take about 2 years, i have the engine which is currently stripped and being prepared for a full rebuild, i pick up the body components in 2 weeks from the south of france, i have about 100 new parts bought and stored in my spare room which includes stuff like hub flanges, steering rack, wishbones, master cylinder, servo, earthing kit etc etc etc.

The car in its current form makes its last show appearance end of June 2008 then it gets stripped back to a bare shell for a roll cage to be welded in, all dings removed, the sunroof being removed and welded up, paint etc etc

I've already taken loads of pictures of the engine strip down and the whole project will all be documented as it progresses.

yeah i just don't really like ebay. its popular to the point now that where like six of seven years ago you could get stuff dirt cheap cause there weren't as many bidders, now its just a slight discount off retail usually, and at the expense of warranty and customer service. plus i ing hate paypal

that said, i bought my xbox 360 on there for $315 shipped, with a 20 gig hard drive, hd cables, controller. i think thats the only thing i've ever bought off ebay. did get an original xbox motherboard off there with a friend once though after we fried ours failing miserably at modding it :p

I bought it off criagslist, but it was still a deal.

1970's Akai 1730D 7" reel-to-reel, in perfect working order.
$120 delivered...some people don't know what they have.
