What was the last good deal you got on ebay?

Seems like it's harder now to get any decent deals on ebay. I mean you can probably get something for few bucks cheaper than retail. But when was the last time you got a really awesome deal on ebay? What was it? How good of a deal was it?

The best deal I ever got on Ebay (it was more of a steal) - a Roland TR-909 for $350 in 2005. The guy was local, so I took of from work and jetted over when he agreed to $350 to end the auction early.

Nothing even close since then. how bout u?

I get ridiculously good deals on books but they rape you with shipping costs and half the time it's barely justified.

Ebay should seriously step in and do something about highway robbery regarding shipping charges.

Got a Garmin GPSMap60csx for about €100-200 cheaper than I could have gotten it here. It was genuine, the seller sold nothing but GPS units, and whats more he promised to pay import duty if I got hit with that.

Great stuff.

I thought i was getting a good deal on some smoked bumper and fender lights for my car but shipping was ing outrageous. I think it cost more than the actual lights and it probably only cost a few bucks to ship, it wasnt even 1lb.

All these excessive shipping charges can be reported, you know? If the book is $5 and shipping is $15 - that's a reportable offense.

people are doing that now because ebay is assraping people on the final value fees for their auctions. It works out much better for the seller if you put the item at $1 with $10 shipping than if you put it for $7 with $4 shipping since final value fees are only charged on the sale price of the item not on the shipping.

when you buy on ebay now you need to pay attention to the shipped price and understand what is going on there

eBay used to be awesome, but now it's mostly just an outlet for people to sell crappy merchandise with extreme shipping rates. i can't even justify searching for stuff on there because there's so much crap to sort through, unless it's something rare or hard to find... then eBay can be great. i think the last thing i bought on there was the limited edition clear blue Blue Fear vinyl, which cost me about $20 (incl shipping from the UK).

gotta admire one of the remaining and strangely still legal GLOBAL monopolies. Google should be spending that money they're using on a crowded cell phone market to create an auction site. Can you imagine the possiblities? You're searching for something and can't find it in the auction and here you have the link to someone selling the stuff from their website. Revenue stream either way - click or buy.

I can't understand why they haven't jumped on that yet. The brand is there, the money is there, the payment system is even in place... and the DEMAND/MARKET IS THERE! What else do they need? Ebay needs a serious competitor, IMHO. People would be switching in droves, I think. Yet Goog made no move. strange.
