some tidbits

1. Rockets can't make it out the first round
-sucks for aldeman first year there.

2. Wizards can't make it out of the first round again
-gilbert was hurt too much and they played their fav opponent again(sarcasim)

3. Sun and Dallas(Waste in the playoffs)
-Suns president pissed I bet and you already know how cuban felt
-kudos to the hornets and coach

4. Celtics could have won 70 and they still would of got a game 7 against an 8 seed
-there is a difference b/w the season and the playoffs. Some are hungry and some are not.

5. Spurs love the playoffs
-Karl malone should of joined them instead of the lakers to win his only ring before he got hurt and left:rolleyes:

That's the absolute truth.

Eh, it wasn't worth watching. Least fun game to go to EVER. The Wizards just gave up on defense about halfway through the third quarter when they got down by double digits. I mean, they didn't even try to get out on Wally on the perimeter. Really lackluster performance.

But one comment:

I lost all respect I may have ever had for LeBron James as a player. He may be one of the most talented athletes to ever play the game, but the way he handles himself on the court is appalling. He constantly jaws at his own teammates, chewing them out whenever he has to take a bad shot. I'll give credit where credit is due and say he did look to pass more in this game - one reason I think the Cavs played so much better - but his ability to take a terrible shot and still chew out a teammate is unparalleled in any athlete I've ever watched in person.

Also, the way he whines and moans at the refs throughout the game is so tiring. You may have seen on TV that the Verizon Center was handing out mock 23 jerseys that said "Crybaby" - he definitely lived up to that name once again tonight. Any time he got bumped, whether incidental or not, he'd go straight to the refs. He'd ham it up as well - the worst example was when he lowered his shoulder and went into Antawn Jamison to shoot a shot - his shoulder caught Jamison square in the jaw, but it was LeBron who made a great show of pain! And the eye thing - give me a break. I've never seen someone so unabashedly fake an injury since watching the Italians play in the World Cup.

Despite his unbelievable skill and athletic ability, the guy is nowhere near ready to be a leader, and the talk about Hall of Fame is laughable - he needs to grow up first. Say what you will about DeShawn Stevenson, but he doesn't plead his case to the officials after every call that doesn't go his way, and he certainly doesn't chew out his teammates for his own mental lapses.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, if I were going to build an NBA franchise around just one player, LeBron would not be on my top 5 list of candidates for the job.

Gah, what a disappointing night.

:stongue:

How do you even still watch the NBA? You just described 99% of its players :p

Bitter much?

Edit: And :wtf: @ your complaining about Lebron yet unabashed love of Deshawn.

Seriously Jeff - this is going to be like you and I and the NFL all over again. :p

*punches fist to open hand repeadily :)

RJT: Leb is just in denial the wizards lost.
Cue COR type thread lol.

Do you want to add lebron to the flop list like reggie and karl malone ? when he gets touch he crys foul. What do you excpect with the back and forth talk. Just play but wizards are the ones who said "lebron can be beaten" in the first place; well until next year I guess..

Quote from end of game one recap:
"Determined to shut up trash-talking Washington guard DeShawn Stevenson, who had called him "overrated" last month"

I love my Spurs so much I even support Tottenham Hotspur. I always try to tell people that the regular season is all about resting key players, developing your bench, and trying out various strategies. The playoffs are when you actually need to show up and play because winning 70 games does not compare to winning a championship. Ten seasons of winning the most games in the league doesn't hold a candle to one championship season.

It all starts with the coaching.
So few good ones left
Popovich > Sloan > Aldeman>rest of NBA coaches(Phil J does not count :) )
and then up to what happens on the floor

When I was at the Spurs Vs the Knicks. It reminded be of when UNC played SUNY Buffalo. Buffalo was up the entire game by a few(somehting that would never happen) and at the very very end lose. Thats what exp. vs inexp is all about.

those were the good ol' days when players fought tooth and nail for every ball.... :o

anyways, when the playoffs started, i thought the sixers-pistons series would go 7, but wouldn't figure the hawks-celtics series to go 7. atlanta proving you don't need experience to win a tough series, just adversity, youth, and the will to win. game 6 had it all.

spurs-hornets tonight. i see the spurs taking this in 6. spurs taking at least 2 in new orleans, and the hornets taking at least 1 in san antonio imo. cp3 vs the frenchman. the big fundamental vs the dentist. the argentinan big man vs tyson chicken mcnuggets. the argentinan 2 step vs mo pete. should be a good series!

as for the magic vs pistons, this looks to be another headscratcher series. if turkoglu, lewis, and howard can manage at least 60 points between them, i see the magic winning this in 6. otherwise, pistons in 6. d-ho vs ra-weed. mr. big shot vs that guy from st. joes. that turkish guy vs mr long arms. the masked man vs some guy named rashard. should be a good series!

Eh, I disagree - LeBron is a lot worse than any of the other truly great NBA players.

And as for DeShawn, I certainly don't love him - I think he's a narcissistic prick, but he is a good role player and did what he could to get the Wizards fan base energized this season.

:)

Edit: In any case, the Wizards aren't even close to being my team... I just love Gilbert. So you guys can continue to rip on them all you'd like and I'm not going to get riled up about it.

Also, Brett Favre still sucks. :p
