I would consider very carefully what you are going to be applying for at the other end of the degree before spending huge amounts of time and money on it. |
Agreed.
Also, do you have any idea what it's going to take to become a professor of history? You might want to find that out before you sink tens of thousands of dollars into it. A lot of humanities phd programs are graduating 25+ would-be professors for every 1 they hire. You do the math. |

I live in kind of a ty area, I guess I haven't really checked too thoroughly, though.
I'm going to major in History, haven't decided on a minor yet. Probably a language, either continuing German or starting Japanese.
It's really more a pain in the ass. If I have to run home to get something, it takes me half-an-hour to get back. There's plenty of apartments within walking distance of the University. I can get a two bedroom for $750 with utilities and internet included within walking distance of the University.
Oh, also, I forgot to mention. It's 15 minutes when I'm going 80. :p
I live in the country. | Wow.... just dont go to school, you sound like a lazy bastard and will probably fail.
seriously a pain in the ass to go drive 15 minutes to go to school? how much do you forget? all you really need is a book, paper and a pencil. Plus everything now a days is electronic pretty much so there is nothing to forget.
live at home, and go to school. |

I went to school full-time for a year...worked almost 20 hours a week.
Worked on my production. Played a few gigs in a local bar in the city. Paid for my own and lived on my own. Death with a lot of bull everyday. Drank whiskey and cleared up my head when I got frustrated. Even my teachers and my classmates were a part of this trap. School of hard knocks. Now, I'm suffering for a post graduation withdrawl syndrome while looking for a job.
Hey, if can go through this , I bet you can too!
Impossible is nothing! :) |

Piss off, you make it sound like I said, "The 15 minute drive is the worst thing in the world."
I've been doing it for years, it's just an inconvenience. Almost everyone I know lives in town, so, by comparison, it's a drive for most people around here.
Lebezniatnikov: Yeah, I'm looking at Mankato State University. |

| You can come and live at my house. In exchange for cleaning the house, performing yardwork, and showering me with praise I will give you a loving home, $50/week for your schooling, and all the Fritos you can eat. Also, you can use my Gamecube. |
