so i saw a cassette tape made into a wallet here a while ago and i knew i had to do one for myself.  i used a clear tape, but it took some time for me to find one that would work, because as far as i can tell they have to have screws in them. otherwise deconstruction becomes extremely difficult.  so you need a smallish screwdriver, a tape with screws, some tape, a rubber band, and smallish wire cutters.

first you take out the screws, then you open up the tape and take out all the guts. 

then you need the wire cutters, to sort of bend off all the little plastic bits that would be in the way of storing money in your wallet.

after that, close up the tape and look at the top of it, and sort of eyeball out the center. then you're going to bend out a little rectangular hole on one of the two halves of tape

sorry for the rubberband being there, we haven't quite gotten to that yet (it's kind of a detailed tut, i know. sorry!)

then tape the two halves together on either side of the hole for a hinge (i used two pieces of clear tape, they're pretty invisible, but you can make a prettier hinge if you want)

open it up and stick your rubber band through that little rectangular hole you made so it's about halfway through

put your money into the inside half of the rubber band, close up the two halves, and pull the outside half of the rubber band over the rest of the tape. if that's confusing, don't think too much about it. pictures:

and there you have your finished wallet. (the stuff inside will need some rearranging probably, just to get it to fit right.
