and lol @ pregnant. My best friend and I calculated that about 40 percent of our graduating class is now married or with their second child. Of course these are mostly the outcasts and welfare kids who have kids to get money from the Government.

Damn thats some impressive calculating u did there. Who would of thought that most people find someone, marry them and then have kids. I've never heard of this concept before.

I see them all the time. What's creepy is that somehow they remember me very clearly, but I don't remember any of them, and I wasn't exactly the center of attention in high school.

I have the same problem. People who I never really talked to in high school will see me now and talk to me like we were best buddies... meanwhile, I cannot remember their name for the life of me.

I don't really talk to anyone from high school except for maybe the occasional facebook message or something with a select few.

I have seen a lot that have gotten pregnant... some whom I would have never thought in a million years would get pregnant so soon. It's crazy to see where some people have gone with their lives.

When the first kid came at 18 and they "had" to get married, ya...too young, imo. Counting the amount of people in our graduating class and counting the ones who have kids...ya impressive.

But I don't like it when people I didn't really know go further than a light chat, and start pretending like we've been best buds for eternity :nervous:

+1 Man, that bothers me a lot too.

I left and never looked back save for my 3 best friends. I've known them since before high school but lately we haven't been keeping in touch as well. Kinda sad but things change...they just...didn't :(

one of the last times i drove out to NY, the girl working at the toll booth near my city apparently recognized me and freaked out and was like "OMG Myra! what's up? how have you been? what are you doing out here?" and the whole time i kept thinking "damn, this chick looks familiar but i have no idea who she is or what her name is or how i know her..." so i was nice enough, answered her questions, and then just pulled the "nice to see ya, gotta go!"

i realized a few days later she was this chick who was always trying to get with all my guy friends during junior year. i was never friends with her but i used to see her all the time.

Yeah seriousely. I didn't give a crap about them in high school and they didn't give a crap about me, so what's the deal?

it's because for a lot of them, high school is like the high point in their lives. people were dumb enough to think they were cool, and they associate anyone involved in the general surroundings with feelings of acceptance.

so even if they didn't give half a turd about you back then, seeing you reminds them of a time where being an idiotic irresponsible was OK and they were part of the 'in' crowd, so they'll seem to react nicely.

hell, i have people i verbally assaulted on a weekly basis back in HS ask me whats up, and try to get my number so we can 'hang out' when they bump into me.

The school system isn't made for smart people. It's taylored to the needs of the average student, and those who don't have the same needs get left out, demotivated and depressed. You'd be surprised how many drop out. Imagine dragging behind for weeks on concepts you understood in a matter of hours because the rest of the class is slower, spending every day doing mindless tasks and assignments that teach you nothing and only waste your time, not being able to relate with any of the other students, having a system designed to hold you back...

I've had this discussion with one of my college professors. Turns out beyond a certain point, it's usually the brightest students who drop out.

This is 100% true. I was bored in school. I went through unchallenged academically, and as a result, did nothing. I ended up leaving high school and getting my GED and got to work. I wish I had started school 4 years ago, but in the end, I wouldn't have learned what i have over the paste few years. Going back to school this fall finally, to start all my general ed crap, and then start my major coursework in mechanical engineering.
