has anyone here done it?
i have too much free time and have been thinking recently about getting a second job (part-time) to make some extra money... and because i live in Milwaukee, this is the first idea that popped into my head.
just looking for some thoughts and opinions before i consider it seriously. |

I loved it when I tended bar at the golf course - one of the most fun jobs I've ever had.
I'm sure it'd have been different if I had to be there until 2:30 or later each night, but I liked it. Mixing drinks is fun. 
Edit: And if you have a regular crowd, the pay is epic win. |

It's funny when your work asks you to grow a beard on purpose, hahahaha.
Made good monies though, and it's probably the reason to this day that I'm not a big drinker. |

Are you talking about the class to get your license or a class to teach you how to mix a bunch of drinks?

The license class in Wisconsin is $15, but the responsible beverage service class is around $100 (I think). |

I thought about doing it for fun, and I have a few friends and a brother who are bartenders full time, and they all said the same thing...don't go to the school, and just get hired. Start as barback or at a low volume place, and get the hands on experience. |
