Much respect to the bravery of Kevin Arnnett for bringing this utterly repugnant attrocity in to the public record in this documentary account of the genocidal rape of aboriginal natives. This didn't happen a few hundren years ago, more like a few decades. I can't really comment much more right now as I'm far too disgusted and consumed with rage to be terribly coherent.

I live only a few kilometres away from a Six Nations reserve on Grand River near Caledonia. Its true that the Canadian government has been working for a long time to assimilate native peoples into Canadian-American brand. They tricked them and took back the lands that they initially gave to natives for fighting against American aggression in the War of 1812. If it wasnt for the natives, that war would have likely played out differently.
Today the natives are quite brazen in Canada, and show great animousity towards whites and non-natives, and I have experienced in on myself. Often enough they can be hypocrite. I'll explain later, must run for work now. |

Gee, I wonder why the they would feel that way... I'm sure each and every one of them is like that right? I'm not saying hostility is a good thing, it doesn't build bridges. But it has an understandable cause, which the one's who have that hostiliry can't entirely be blamed for. Their culture and way of life has been destroyed, their people massacred, their women raped. What the do you expect? Some modern western PC bull of going along to get along? What ing justification is there for their persecution. None whatsoever. So no neep to get defensive here and stroke everyone with a broad brush. The only thing you're refelcting is (which is also ing absurd) is your own guilty conscience by associating your identity with people in the distant past, who aren't even your ing ancestors. Dude, seriously mag, you're an intelligent guy with a sense of ethics. What the is up with all this nationalistic bull? Haven't you been disillusioned with the concept of nation states yet? These degenrate disgusting unjustifiable violent coersive institutions do not serve the interest of their subject populations, only the interest of those who set and influence policy. And that ain't the ing people... more like ing corporation, the economic models driving the system, the political [and / or 'religious'] oligrach that runs every system despite it's label or description on paper. nationalism, and "patriotism." nation states. Patriotism is an absurd concept by virtue of the absurd institutional structure it necessitates to exist. People always want to belong to a bigger group to identify with, that stupid childish desire to belong as well. Do you define yourself as a human being? Or do you define yourself as a subserient subject to slave your life away being taxed for all the material and superficial that will never make you happy or fulfill your actual human needs? |

|| <--- this is all the sympathy i have for the natives. So someone stole your great great great great grand daddy's land? DEAL WITH IT... Lets take a look at what these people do with teh land they currently have and the money they get from the gov.....
Oneida reserve, outside london ontario. Gov built 30 new single family homes back in 94. over half of them are now missing the porches and all the siding..... why? they were built with wood furnaces and the people who were GIVEN these homes for free were too damn lazy to walk 30 feet to the forest outside the house to cut a tree, so they ripped off the decks and siding and burned that.....
alcoholism and drug abuse is rampant in reserves across the country, with no sense or responsability for their own problems. you have a small hand full of band leaders who recognize the problem but can't do anything about it.
I do know of some natives who have done well for themselves, they left the reserves, got jobs like the rest of us and now pay taxes like the rest of us. That was their choice to make their lives better for themselves....
I dont see why we need to keep funding these un-sustainable communities and putting up with these bull land claims, and what happens when they get the land? they do sweet all with it.
the native community as a whole needs to get off their asses and help themselves by working for a living instead of living off gov handouts, and while they are at it, they can start paying taxes too. Im pretty sure universal free healthcare wasnt part of the 200 year old agreement.... doctors in london ontario are getting sick of treating overweight diabetic natives with drug and alcohol related ilnesses who wont take medical advice or perscribed medication. |
