Suggestions on how to stay AWAY from ciggarettes when you're pissed off & stressed?

Well, I'm not a really heavy smoker (maybe a pack a week)... but I haven't smoked at all since Monday night, which is like WOW for me.

I'm doing good, not even craving a ciggarette, BUT today is a realllyyyyyyyy stressful & hectic day at work, and I'm afraid I'm going to give in and go buy a pack during my lunch break, so I can smoke to help calm nerves...

How do I AVOID smoking when I'm stressed, irritated, pissed off, etc...????

But other than that, try some nicotine gum. It'll give you the nicotine to calm you, but it will also provide oral activity plus that wonderful burning sensation that lets you know it's workin. (super expensive though :( )

Being able to say 'NO!' to yourself and quit, that's the bottom line.

I've been smoking for years and most of my friends that I hang out with smoke too... the hardest thing is to get out of the peer pressure, I always do 'you-smoke-one-and-I-smoke-one-too'. Find a substitute, activities that you may like such going to the gym, take a walk around the building whenever you get stressed out.. it helps!
