No IKEA here, unfortunately :(
And I guess you're right, Jenny. As the "anchor", I was thinking of using this very simple table:

Since it's both the dining room and my home office (the bedroom would be too cluttered if I put a table there). And I'd match the rest of the furniture with this "anchoring table"... for example, the bookshelves:

...the chairs...

... and even the silverware. I'd leave the beige and the blue for accessories and stuff, to make it less dark. I want it to look sober and masculine, if you know what I mean. Think of your stereotypical Capricorn: that would be me :p
But, maybe Lilith is right: dark furniture in such a light room might look weird, and painting the walls will probably make it look even smaller...
... hmmm...

Different coloured floor to yours so its not quite it. Nice though!
This is kind of working well too if you must insist/cant find lighter coloured furniture |

Come to think of it, that's not a bad idea. Koreans are usually portable and intelligent. Communication shouldn't be a problem after a while. Plus, I just can't say no to a bargain.
Well, I'd like half a dozen of Lee's, a couple of Ra's, and a Kim. No males, please, and make sure at least one of them knows Tae Kwon Do. Can I have a bowl of kimchi too? That would be great! |

Found a couple of schemes you can work with-
Blue schemes
Thinking out of those, this possibly the one there closest to what you have and want to work with blue
Green schemes
Not much grabs me there, except one:
Yellow schemes
This is probably the most important one though as you have a a yellow-ish/cream floor from the sounds of it and you can accent it with a fair variety of colours.
Have a look through the rest of that site though and you might get some ideas. |
